N/P David West to the Clippers?

Interesting, what if Byron Scott ends up there too? It's all speculation of course.

The Los Angeles Clippers are interested in signing David West this offseason.

The Clippers will have to entice West with the $5.15 million midlevel exception available to teams that are non-taxpayers.

West played with Chris Paul as members of the New Orleans Hornets.

The Indiana Pacers will be able to pay West more money to re-sign.

David West makes me like any team that he's on. I'd be forced to like the Clippers.

I would freak out if this happens. Love DWest, hate the Clips. He's way farther than they are in the playoffs, would have to take a pay cut and probably come off the bench. It can't be that enticing to team up with Paul.

West was quoted as saying the Pacers are "the tightest knit group he's ever been a part of". I dunno if he gives that up.
CPME playing GM i assume. B Scott COME ON DOWN!!!!!

Sounds like he's liking the team he's already on.

"This is the most together group that I’ve been a part of,’’ said West, who averaged 14.7 points and 7.8 rebounds in their series against the Knicks. "We don’t have any egos. We don’t have a bunch of `I’ guys. We have guys who are intent on doing whatever we have to do to go out and win the game.’’

Don't leave. I like you just where you are, West. Don't make me destroy my appreciation of you.

Yeah, don't see David leaving the pacers. He's loving his role and team, and they are able to pay him the most. Sounds like a happy camper to me.

Would he even start with the Clippers?

No way he leaves the Pacers, especially for the Clippers. He's perfect where he's at. He gets better every season too.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

After they get West and Byron, CP3 can assume GM/player, then get Morris Peterson, trade for Chandler, and coax Peja out of retirement and it'll be just like old times

Couldn't of said it better myself. My favorite Hornet/Pelican of all time, and that'll all be cancelled out if he goes to the Clips. Plus he gives me a team to root for since the Pelicans have sucked the last couple years. I could NEVER cheer for a team that Blake Griffin played on.

    PAUL’S GO-TO GUY
Chris Paul’s preference is to stay with the Clippers but he wants them to hire an African-American coach, according to multiple league sources. The Clips’ best bet for keeping Paul with a long-term deal might be to hire Nate McMillan, who can have the Pistons job and any number of bad-to-so-so jobs that are out there, as the replacement for Vinny Del Negro, whose current contract is expiring and is not getting a new deal.

Really? What is this? Didn't he love Skip Prosser though?

    Is NY Daily News real?

It's laughable that David West would give up probably $5 million per year to go to a new team and essentially play backup to Blake Griffin. Clippers swung and missed on Belinelli and ended up with Willie Green. I'm guessing Carl Landry is next on the call list.

What does the color of someone's skin have to do with their coaching ability? If he really said that, he's an idiot.

It's a little ridiculous that Paul keeps on trying to call the shots. If he's so set on setting up the team himself why doesn't he apply for the GM position as well?

I no longer want Chris Paul back, guys.

Man , what would happen if a Steve Nash would come out and say he wanted his team to hire a Caucasian coach ? the uproar would be deafening. What's bad for one group of people to say should be bad for ALL groups of people to say. It's a double standard world we live in ......... Sad

Sweet. And when Sergio Garcia is in town, he can come to his hotel room and eat some fried chicken.

Yea, IF it's true. Will we ever truly find out though? If they bring in an African American coach will it just be a coincidence? We may never know.

Yea we will never fin out, but what will be unbelievable, yet not surprising, is that that quote will receive no media attention.
