He'a got the right skills offensively to play the 3, but lacks the quickness to guard the 3 defensively.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

He doesn't have the lateral quickness to defend most small forwards.

    3 reasons.

    1. He has yet to show that he can play the SF position. Yes, he's shown some tools but he's no more a SF than Milsap is. And Milsap has played some minutes at the 3.
    2. Due to his injury, he missed the combine and has no measurements to help project his ability to play SF. IE Perimeter defense and footspeed. This is important as a SF position is one of the deeper position in the league. You need to be able to defend.
    3. He is at his best when he's in the post. He's shown that he has the footwork that can be translated to the League due to his post offense and ability to bang in the paint.

They are true, but i think he might have more trouble guarding effectively at the 4 than at the 3 in the NBa obviously not in college.

Also considering he didn't have a chance to show off his potential skills to play SF effectively at the combine, he might be a major steal in this draft as he didn't really have a chance to raise his stock.

I knew Muhammad would get a lot of votes, but I am a little surprised he's getting this many so far. He reminds me too much of Xavier Henry.

Why? Just because he is left handed? Henry was never that prolific of a scorer nor as solid built as Shabazz.

They're both big 2's or small 3's. Both can get to the line. Both can score but can't really do anything else so if they're not scoring they're basically a waste of space.

Because he drives the ball like Z-Bo.

There are different levels of scoring. Henry was not a prolific scorer (and was thought to have a little bit of defense). Muhammed has a much higher ceiling when it comes to scoring. My concern is that he does not create his own shot. He is certainly a boom or bust.

Anyone thought of drafting McCollum if top 5 are gone. We could trade EG, GV, and lopez for pieces. Rivers/McCollum is PG and SG?
