"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Now he is saying he doesn't want to be traded.
Will it ever end?
I could honestly do a starting 5 of
Jennings
Gordon
Aminu
Davis
Zeller/Noel
With Lopez, Anderson, and GV off the bench.
That is a team young enough to gel. Fast enough to score at will. And hard enough to play def. they might not win you a title in 2 or 3 years, but if they gel, by the end of Davis' rookie contract they would be deadly.

If you Jimmer it, they will come.
He's a shoot-first PG that shoots under 40%. You don't pay him more than the MLE.
Of course, that won't stop some other team from backing up the Brinks truck.
Jennings is more of a name right now than anything else. He's not the type of elite talent the Pelicans need.
So happy Dell Demps knows more about this than I do. He will not over pay anyone. He will get as deep a team he can.
Max he should get from anyone is 9-10 million, but what I would do is 4 years 36 million. I wouldn't do more than that for him.
Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams
Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston
2012-2013 season totals:
Jeff Teague
PPG: 14.6
APG: 7.2
RPG: 2.3
Brandon Jennings
PPG 17.5
APG 6.5
RPG 3.1
On paper, somewhat similar numbers. Jennings is more of a scorer than Teague but Teague has more assists with Jennings having a hair more rebounds.
That said, I also think Jennings is more of a guy who needs to be "the man" in order to remain content, whereas Teague seems perfectly content to be the compliment.
In terms of contracts, I see Jennings wanting 11-12 mill a season. Do I think he SHOULD get that? Not really. If I'm a GM, I'm going no higher than $9.5 m per. However, do I THINK he'll get what he commands? More likely than not. I think a team like Dallas if they miss out on CP3 could get pretty desperate and go that route.
Teague, I could see getting $7-8 mill per.
I would much rather Tyreke Evans than either Teague or Jennings.
I like Jennings alot, but I don't think we can pry him without a trade or overpaying.
Calderon would be really interesting. IMO he's a big upgrade offensively. You have to hide him on D, but same goes for Gravy.
I don't like Vasquez as our starter at the point b/c he's a little too slow defensively and he turns the ball over a ton. He's also a playmaker. He definitely belongs in a rotation, but I don't think he's a guy you really get out and run with, and his other warts (D, TOs) make him a meh fit for a successful halfcourt team. I like him alot as a combo guard off the bench.
Draft will dictate if we sign or trade for a point. There are a couple of really strong true pg prospects in Burke and Carter-Williams that are worthy of picks 5-7, so we'll see how it goes.
Teague seems to be a more cost efficient option. I don't want Tyreke at the point. Would be only ok at SG or SF.
I wouldn't even pay Jennings with monopoly money
