I don't think Davis is ready for center, certainly not full time. I like the Porter pick though. And I'd say start GV at point, but maybe Rivers can take the job from him as the season goes on.

Don't think we will make playoffs next year regardless but we hopefully will be late lottery next year.
We want more! We want more!

If GV starts at point next year he'll be the basketball version of Shanle. When Rivers puts on weight so he can finish around the basket he won't want to be a point guard anymore.

Doubtful, Don't see Austin getting big enough to dominate Sg's the way he could potentially do PG's. PG is definitely his best chance to start.

Rivers at 6"5 will be one of the biggest PGs in the league.

But that's kind of the point. Once he puts on some weight he's gonna be borderline HUGE for a PG and he's not going to want to play it, I'm telling you. Also do you mean "dominating SGs" as far as offensively or defensively? He was great on D later in the season on guys like Kobe. I still say Rivers ends up being a 6th man at 2 behind Gordon or he takes over at 2 if we draft or sign a PG. That all changes if we draft McLemore or Dipo though.
    Wherehappens.

LOL at GV, Rivers or Roberts (let alone all three) preventing a top 5 pick from playing.

Burke is the choice for my pelicans. Get a SF on FA, resign Aminu and problems are solved. Allow burke to develop as the starting PG and have a really nice backup w/ vasquez. If he vasquez is traded, Rivers will play the backup PG and some PT at SG.
Mpersonally, I'm tired of losing and there is no reason why we couldnt expedite the process of winning games by bringing in a YOUNG SF. Im not saying to overpay anyone...We just need someone who can carry us offensively (along w/ ryno) from time to time until Gordon is back to 100%.

I think you guys might be right and that Rivers might be a huge wildcard pertaining to the big picture.....what the do the Pels really see as his future and how do they really feel about him? I have no idea what they are thinking, but I personally struggle seeing Burke in our future partially because of his presence....I am pretty sure of one thing though and that would be the draft proper should be a lot more suspenseful this year for the Pelicans fans than it was last year with the Hornets....

There's no way it can't be more suspenseful, 0 chance we weren't taking Davis.

Tomorrow should mean a LOT. If we get 3 I see about a 5% chance we don't take Porter.

    bingo!

I def think we take porter before Burke if we land top 3 and he's there. If we fall out of the top 3 n get 5-7. If mclemore, porter, oladipo are gone. Then I see burke being our guy if he's there. I also think if Burke, mclemore, dipo, and porter are all gone. I think we get a big man in Alex Len or what about taking Anthony Bennett. Then trading Ryno for a nice sf?? That could be an option as well. If our top guys are gone when we r up and Bennett is there. I actually really love that situation. Draft Bennett who has the most upside in this draft IMO. Develop him at the 4 behind Davis and trade Ryno for a nice sf.

I see us picking 6th. Best case I see us picking 3rd.

In either case, we wind up with someone I like. Unless Monty and co like Noel, Zeller, Len, or Bennett more than I do.

I can see Zeller but that's it.

I think we end up with Porter, Burke or Oladipo eventually.

I don't see Austin getting huge. Stronger yes bigger not so much. And if we can roll with 6'6 GV at point we definitely can go with a 6'5 Austin. As far as not wanting to play it, Austin has gone on record saying he wants to play point guard and he plays better there.

Well, there's a tiny chance we could be picking 8th! But yes, I would also be very disappointed...can't wait until tomorrow.
