I don't believe McLemore has "it".

Why does it matter? We aren't looking for a #1 option. We're looking for a #2 or #3 option. I swear, People seem to have this idea that we need to draft #1 option in this draft.

CJ went to Lehigh.. A school not quite on par with the Ivy League schools, but not that far below them either. They have a HIGH academic standard.

I'm highly in favor of picking him. He's got many intangibles that can't be coached, including court smarts. And trust me, having on court smarts matters big time.

Placing Lehigh anywhere near an Ivy is a gross exaggeration.

It might be a "reach" but along the same lines as a Lillard reach. I wouldn't be mad at all (if Burke's gone).
    Wherehappens.

No way we take CJ, Demps is going to see too many similarities to Rivers and Monty is not going to lack him because he's not an elite athlete. Still I think he would be a good lightning to Gordon's thunder and with him we would have a Spurs-esque team of guards who can get into the paint as well as shoot from the outside.

9th fastest time in the DX database of all time. Nate Robinson is the only active player that has a faster time at 2.96 (good for 3rd all time).

Also, while looking up all time rankings, I spotted Brian Roberts near the top. The dude had some incredible times with a 3.05 in the sprint and a 10.65 in the lane agility.

If Roberts could just develop some court vision, he'd be a very solid player in this league. His shooting is fantastic, and he improved defensively as the year went on. From what I understand, he's new to the PG position, so there is an adjustment period, but he is already 27. He's a nice bench player as of right now though.

Everyone is saying mclemore might go #1 overall and this and that. Let's look into the stats:

    Otto Porter 16.2 - 7.5 - 2.7 - 48%
    Ben Mclemore 15.9 - 5.2 - 2.0 49%

Porter is the youngest of all the prospects besides Noel, he is only 19 and theres nothing he cant do. He can score, defend, pass, basketball IQ, and rebound. There really arent any holes in his game, some people say he cant create for himself, i disagree. I think 5 years down the road Porter and Burke will be the 2 best players in this draft. Also Porter is 6"9 with a 7"2 wingspan

The more I read about this stuff the more I'm beginning to think that the stars are aligning for the Pelicans to trade their lottery pick in some package to get a proven vet and probably a pick later in the draft or another 1st in 2014.

You have to have a suitor. Other teams know how much better next year's draft is, too.

We will have a lot more information tomorrow night after the lottery. Right now I think the top three players to go are going to be McLemore, Noel and Porter. IMO Noel is a bad fit for the team and Porter is a great fit. I think if the Pels win the lottery they will go with McLemore or Porter.

If the Pels don't win the lottery and are picking between 5 an 8 I would be very happy with Oladipo or Burke. If neither of those guys is available and someone offered a trade I would be good with trading down a few spots if we can get an asset in return. Mid to late lottery has several intriguing players. At center Len, Gobert, or Zeller. I don't know a ton about Saric, but SF is a position of need and he seems like he could be good. CJ McCollum and MCW could be candidates at guard.

With Monty being a seemingly defense minded coach, does Shabazz get any consideration if the Pels are picking outside the top 4? I admit I do not follow most of the collage players, only know of what I read. Early on I thought this guy would be our best bet since he's a pretty solid scoring threat at the 3 which we are sorely lacking, but I have since cooled on him because of what is written of his defense or lack their of. Can this guy develop defense or is he destained to be Aminu's polor opposite? Would there be a possibility where Shabazz and Aminu co-existed to form a complete SF?

i think so, rivers' wasnt known for his D but we took him. bazz has potential to be a very good defender. I think he could be a good fit.

I could be totally wrong here, but when I see Shabazz play, I think about Paul Pierce.

Would it be bad to have a Paul Pierce type of player?

Noel has a slight frame for such a tall guy. It's even more troubling that since his injury in Feb, he's lost weight doing less activity. If his metabolism works at such a high rate, it might be many years before he enters the 250lb territory he needs to be to play C.
