"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

You don't have to be in a win now mode to try to acquire free agents. Get into the playoffs mode will suffice, which is exactly what Monty and Dell have been preaching since the season ended. They want to get some vets in here and pronto.
I also never said OKC was the first and there were teams before the Spurs who built mainly by drafting . OKC is the team most people refer to nowadays, so that is who I chose.
If New Orleans draft Burke or McLemore then they have to look at trade options for Eric Gordon. With a backcourt roster of Eric, GV, Rivers and Roberts there won't be any playing time for a Top 5 selection at G to get. Therefore, which leads me to believe that neither of the top G's in this draft will we select unless there BPA. In the most realistic scenario, I think we'll select either Muhammad or Len to add depth a frontcourt we need to continue to add depth to.
Now, if we do select Trey Burke or any of the top G's in this draft then I can't imagine Eric Gordon being on the team next season. A line-up such as the following would be interesting: (A 3-Guard line-up that can push the basketball in an up-tempo style.)
PG: Trey Burke
SG: Austin Rivers
SF: Greivis Vasquez
PF: Anthony Davis
C: *Free Agent

Picking a PG doesn't effect Gordons future with the team at all.
Rather enhances his future, really.
we need a sf, with a good SF and a healthy gordon we are a playoff team
I don't think Aminu is a BAD SF persay, but he's not going to be one who lights up the scoreboard with points.
If Monty and Dell are ready to go into "playoff mode" then we need to draft/sign reliable scorers -someone who can create their own shot.
We don't currently have that on the team because our coaches and players can't rely on Eric Gordon.
Look for them to draft/sign the best scorers regardless of position.
He isnt a bad sf, but his lack of versatility hinders us. I dont think this matters because we have a very slim chance of resigning him. The question is: who becomes our wing? Will we adress the situation with FA/draft/trade? If we get the 3rd pick and Porter is there i find it hard to believe we dont take him.
We were never relying on Eric Gordon. These last two years have been rebuilding years. You need to quit assuming hes going to be injured all the time. He played a large chunk of the season, and he only sat out back to backs bc management wanted to be cautious. If we trade Eric Gordon we wont be making the playoffs anytime soon. Id rather take my chances with a young player who is capable of dominating games rather than trade for a grizzly veteran who is no more than a role player...
If this staff decides to rely on Eric Gordon to be that young player capable of dominating games in order for this team to contend next season (or 4 yrs from now), then this staff is stupid.
You can't turn a wh*** into a house wife. And you can't depend on a guy who's been unreliable since high school to all of a sudden maximize all of his potential on a consistent basis.
We'll see buddy. I think they take BMAC if hes on the board, but it doesnt mean anyones gone. It does give us flexibility in the back court, and we can move Gordon when we see fit. Rushing to trade Gordon for cap relief is silly when we are 14 mil under the cap. We have time, and i dont see his butt leaving Nola just yet.
how do people feel about this lineup:
Rivers
Gordon
Porter
Ryno
Davis
