Draft Alex Len thinks he will be best player in draft

Maryland sophomore big man Alex Len arrived at the NBA draft combine on crutches, unable to participate in any drills and limited to being a spectator after having surgery to stabilize a partial stress fracture in his left ankle.
The injury might have affected Len’s stock in the draft, since he won’t be able to walk freely until around the time some team selects him on June 27 at Barclays Center. Len took off his cast and got stitches removed from his foot three days ago. He won’t be fully recovered until the regular season begins but remains confident about what he will be able to accomplish on the next level.“I think maybe 10 years from now, I’ll be the best player out of this draft,” Len said on Friday at Attack Athletics gym in Chicago.Len is still a month shy of his 20th birthday and believes that he showed enough in two seasons at Maryland to warrant having a team take him high in the lottery. He averaged 11.9 points and 7.8 rebounds last season, despite playing the final two weeks of the season with what he originally thought was simply a sprained left ankle. An impressive 23-point, 12 rebound effort against projected No. 1 overall pick Nerlens Noel and two more solid outings in wins over Duke convinced the Ukraine native that he is ready to take his game to the next level.

Can't really hate on a guy for being confident.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

He was playing on a broke ankle and he played well the last two games. And when you start projecting prospects from freshman and sophomores its really more hit and miss than it use to be.

Len is the only player in our range that would make me upset if we draft him.

I wasn't against getting Len. He is much better than his numbers would suggest. He was very efficient. He just played with horrible ball hogging guards at Maryland. When he did get his opportunities with the ball he took advantage of them. Don't think we need to take him in the top 7-8 now that a few other big men have impressive combines and look to be pretty solid prospects. I like the Adams kid as well. He can be had later in the 1st tho.

White guys have a tough time selling themselves {can I say that on this forum?}. Anywho, next to Porter, Len is my other favorite draft prospect.

What? Nationality does not equate to race.

Yes, but African is not. Neither is Ukranian, Mexican, Jewish, Japanese, etc.

I'm not excited about anybody in this draft but I do like Len more than I liked Andre Drummond last year.
