That's not my point. My point is different positions require different skills to be successful generally. Sure a center with 3pt range is nice to have but it's not necessary. Being a dynamic PG is great but traditionally it's not required to be elite. To be an elite wing traditionally you have to have elite athleticism. Sure there is always exceptions. To be a dominated big traditionally requires size and strength.

Look at all the great all-time lead guards. You won't see a list of dynamic athletes. Magic, Isaiah, Stockton, Kidd, Nash, Paul. Look at the all time wing players. Baylor, Barry, Erving, Wilkins, Jordan, Pippen, Kobe, LeBron all great athletes.

His craftiness can get better, but I fail to see how that's telling. Based on the fact that he's gotten craftier from his first year to his second I don't think it's a stretch either. Even if he doesn't improve he still already displayed enough skill to be affective.

What is up with this reply with quote and it is putting another name on the quote?? The original name who actually made the quote is coming up outside of the box up top. Confusing.

Kelly olynyk 7 ft in shoes but has a 6'9.75" wingspan...he is the official t-Rex award winner

  7. #307
Zeller, Adams, Gobert, Bullock big winners on measure-ables.

if we land any of burke, oladipo, mclemore, porter this will be a great draft for us, if not id rather trade it for a lotto pick next year

if trey burke, keep gordon, sign SF
if oladipo or mclemore, trade gordon for bledsoe, sign sf
if otto porter, keep gordon, sign jeff teague

I prefer Porter or Burke. I would be really happy with either.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

Man if we drafted Dipo, traded Gordon for Bledsoe and used our cap space to sign Iggy our defense would be sick. And late in the game if we had AD at the 5 and Ryno in at the 4, it would be a good mix of offense and defense. I could roll with that lineup.

Our perimeter offense would struggle greatly and Anderson would struggle as well without a scoring threat out there.

I like this team but take Dipo out and put McLemore in

I'd definitely prefer McLemore over Dipo, especially in this lineup. I was just thinking about how insane that defense would be.

Unless we get top 3, this has all the makings of a traded pick...

I see lot of guys that need another year or two and Monty and Dell have to be real confident they'll still be around to reap the awards to draft any of these guys. Not sure (other than Bledsoe) who might be available, but it won't surprise me at all if they trade this pick for a young vet that's approaching restricted free agency this year or next, or a guy that has talent but doesn't have a clear fit on their current team, or may just cost too much for current team. Guys like Deng and Derrick Williams come to mind, but also a guy like Wilson Chandler or maybe even Gallinari.

Not sure how Denver plans to resign Brewer, Mozgov, and Iggy without trading someone. I'm not sure they could resign Mozgov and Iggy without trading a player.

I hope they get someone to help with depth, for the first year, then maybe become a starter. I now most people want the player to start from day one, and that would be great, but the team has money to get a starter or two in F/A.

I really really like Burke, but I'm having a hard time loving Burke.

The rest of the top prospects scare me. Measurables are great, but I haven't seen anything from Dipo, Porter, McLemore or Noel on the court that gets me fired up and excited that we'd be getting anything more than a guy that will eventually be part of an 8 man rotation for a playoff team. I dont see any potential superstars or all stars. Maybe individual workouts will change that. But I feel like we're all getting worked up over mediocre prospects in a bad draft because that's what fans of all sports do in the offseason around draft time.

That, and throw out awesome trade ideas.

    Speaking of which...

Would be really great if T-wolves fell in love with someone at 5, and offered us D. Williams and 9 to move up. That's the kind of move I'd love for the Pelicans to be able to pull off.

iggy, bledsoe and porter are all pretty good at shooting 3's...

  20. #320
Iggy is not good at 3s. Bledsoe hasn't attempted enough to really make a solid judgement, but I don't think he is a consistently good shooter from 3.

What about drafting Porter or Shabazz and playing Iggy at the 2?

He's been playing mostly SG for Nuggets.

Alot of guys want Burke but unless we get rid of Vasquez... we're not drafting a PG. Monty has put alot of time into developing him and I don't think GV is going anywhere... that's just my opinion.

I like Burke but I don't think we'll take him even if he's available when we're on the clock. Yeah I know we talked to him... its called "due-diligence".

  24. #324
burke ran a very nice 3.16 in the sprint

  25. #325
I'm not too well versed on McLemore, but is it safe to say he is very similiar to Beal last year? Seems that's what it looks like.
