I've always though Pels sounds kinda awkward but I'm sure I just need to get used to it.

That would be great because I'd get a pair. I once had a pair of slippers like that my brother gave me. They weren't Hornets but they were the big fluffy tennis shoe kind and I lost them in Katrina. I used to love them. Especially in the colder months.
that's fantastic. I was directly beneath his feet during this. On first floor dining room, right next to the Gravier window. Although we were in no-way involved with the DL upstairs, the place was all worked up just being under the same roof. kind of a wild experience.... saw him exit with my own eyes, though.

I've heard several people I know, laughing at us for the name change. People overlooking what we are doing. The takeover goes into another gear with the presser tomorrow and the Summer League. I think our guys (Rivers, Jackson, Withey) will show out. All I keep telling the haters:

Lately my brother has been telling me how on some NBAtalk twitter or facebook page people have been laughing at the Pelicans name. Most keep saying how a Pelican isn't even a 'tough bird'. But how tough is a Cardinal or a Blue Jay?
My brother, whose #1 team is the Lakers, and has been for a long time, has never EVER bought any kind of Hornets gear/apparel. Just last week he bought a Pelicans cap. Hahaha!
Initially I have to say I was sceptical about the name but now I absolutely fell in love with it. Geaux Pels!!
I was perusing Pelicans.com and their twitter and about 10 minutes later I got a call from a lady who works for them (apparently, they got my phone number somehow; kinda disturbing). She basically told me anytime I'm in town and wanting to go to a game to hit her up and she'll find me a deal. Sounds like they're really trying to get people in the seats.
Yes at first i thought they could do better but now i love the name and all the logos and i love the colors. I was kinda hoping that the away jersey would be the red with gold trim with the dark blue being around the numbers and names but well see, Im all in with the Pelicans!!!

I was THIS close to working a multigame deal with some guy on the phone. But I lacked that stuff the folds. I have plenty stuff the clinks though.
