He has an NBA opt out clause which allows him to join the NBA. We would have to buy him out (I'm not sure what the price is... I think 3 mil).

NBA rules only allow teams to spend up to $500k on a buyout. Gustavo Ayon's buyout was something like $1.5 million if I remember correctly and he had to foot most of that bill because the Hornets were only allowed to pay 1/3 of it.

Some of the mock drafts lately have me a little annoyed. I know it's early and this stuff will change, but it's still annoying.

The four guys there have us taking Bennet, Len, Muhammad, and Michael Carter Williams (?!). In some cases, Burke or Dipo are on the board. That makes no sense.

But it gets weirder.

I'll answer this question with a question... Or two.

If you had to chose between Ty Lawson, Tayshaun Prince and Tony Allen/Bruce Bowen (with more offensive potential); who would you pick?

I see a TON of the Detroit Piston years Prince in Porter. He's long and lanky like Prince; and may never lead the league or even his team in scoring but can do a little bit of everything and will make up for what he doesn't give you in scoring with defense and rebounding. He's unselfish and seems to be "team first."

As for Burke; he's not as physical as Lawson, however like the Nugget PG he's a smaller PG (6'0) but has a feel for the game, is a true PG and court general and has the quickness and three point skills that make him an enticing option to be a blue chip level guy. He showed what a clutch player he was capable of being this season for Michigan.

Oladipo's defense, from Day 1, will give him staying power in the NBA. I question if his scoring will ever develop to where he'll be proficient in that option. He certainly has the athleticism and work ethic to continue to grow as a scorer, as evidenced by his improved shooting percentage between his sophomore and junior seasons. However, I still think he has a ways to go yet with ball handling and shooting as a whole.

Second question set:

1) Do you think what we saw from Greivis Vasquez was a sign of things to come? At 26, it's not far fetched to believe that he could be this team's PG for the forseeable future. If this is the case, I'm not so sure the Pelicans would be wise to spend a high lottery pick on a backup PG. Honestly, Burke is too small to play anywhere else, and honestly his skill set would be wasted if they tried to move him to a different position. Could Vasquez make the move to SG or SF? I also feel his ability to dish the rock efficiently as he has makes him too valuable to move from the point.

2) Has the franchise and our fanbase completely soured on Eric Gordon? They got a lot of money invested in him, and while he has had his fair share of injuries, when healthy, you can't deny he is a valuable player to have in the organization.

3) Can Al-Farouq Al-Aminu play PF and be a 25 minute super sub player? Or is he even part of the long term plans of the organization?

I think Porter will be a better scoring tayshaun prince.

when he had to be the guy for georgetown he did it, he shot 50% and averaged 18 points 8 rebounds 4 assists during that time period, plus he is a lockdown defender, he's long, can pass, he can do everything.
