He should become a as. coach, scout or something like that. That's what I'd do.

Sad to hear about Brandon Roy, he was awesome to watch but it's time to hang it up while he can walk. As to the people who want to sign , why? What does he bring in that we would need to get us to the next level when he can't stay on the court.

Sucks because Roy had that All-NBA potential. Was a solid producer but it makes you wonder "what if?" He could have been one of the better veteran players today.

I don't think enough emphasis has been made on the fact that the OP seriously suggested we give Brandon Roy 10 million dollars.

All these "if's", imagine if Tmac stayed healthy. Would Kobe still be as big as he is today or would Tmac have stolen the shine? IMO, Tmac was giving Kobe that work!

IMagine if Tmac/Yao would have stayed healthy.

I hate hearing stories like this. Makes you think how many great players in the NBA were lost to injuries.

yeah i did seriously suggest it, what do we have to lose? We paid Gordon over 10 million a year to sit out. Rivers, Roy, and Ryno coming off the bench would be solid. You give Roy 15 to 18 a game off the bench and see what he can do. You know hes not gonna give up, he didnt even get a legit shot with the wolves, not because he was injured the whole time but because Rick Adelman just wouldnt play him. I remember reading an article saying he looks great in practice and that he should be seeing PT. Somebody will give the guy a shot and we have the cap space to do it. But yeah, lets just talk about signing dwight and CP3 all day or trading gordon when Roy is a much more realistic option.

^ No. No no no no no. Roy can't give anything anymore. Just put that idea out of your mind.

What do we have to lose? I think the bigger question is what do we have to GAIN? He played the first five games of the season. 122 minutes. That was ALL he was able to do. It was because he was hurt, not because Adelman wouldn't play him. The last game he played was 11/9. He left the game at halftime due to knee soreness. On 11/10, an ESPN article said Roy was day-to-day due to a sore right knee. He hasn't been able to play since. If we're going to give $5mil a season to a player let's give it to one that doesn't have a chronic knee condition.

Roy had language in his contract that he had to be active for 65 games of last season in order to guarantee the second year of his deal. He barely made it through the first couple of weeks of the season before needing a procedure on his knee. He was barely able to practice throughout the rest of the season, let alone be active for at least 65 games.

During his five games, he made just 31.4 percent of his field-goal attempts, missed all nine of his 3-point attempts and scored just 29 total points. He did manage to have the highest assist rate (28.8 percent) of his career, but it was his lack of scoring ability and defense that made him a liability on the court when he did actually play.
