This is like saying blown knee is only really blown if you are a pro player. Injuries are injuries and surgeries are surgeries.
You are just reaching. Basketball isn't just basketball. I'm thoroughly convinced that you have never played serious basketball in your life because you are saying the most outrageous claims, and they are just false.

I know you don't know what it's like, but I'll explain it to you. My high school regimen: Lift weights Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 5:30-6:30/7 AM, and Saturday at 7:30-8:30/9 AM. Then, practice Monday-Friday from 3:30-7:00 PM. Saturday, practice was from 9:00 AM to 12 PM. That schedule would vary when we had games, obviously, but that was the gist. That's just a high school program.... Imagine how much more work goes into an NBA program, where all you do is work out and play basketball. You have absolutely no clue how much stress these athletes put on their body, and I know you have never been through anything like that just based on how you are responding in this thread. I'm in awe that you are honestly trying to compare your 3-4 weekly pickup games against old farts at the local Y to the rigors of an NBA program

So, yeah, I'd say the level at which you play basketball is completely relevant, and only a person who has never played real basketball would say otherwise. And yes, that is an absolute. I just so happen to be a Sith Lord

The principle stands. Colston has had surgery on the same knee 3-4 times, as well as other surgeries during the off-season(s). In professional sports, if you make it through your career with out a single surgery, then you are a freak.

I think the problem is that you misunderstand why he missed so much time. The injury caused him to lose a lot of muscle over time, and after the surgery, his muscle had totally atrophied. So, even when his knee was healed post-surgery, it still wasn't strong enough to play on. Then, the issue became muscle strength for stability around the knee. If you ever tried to put on muscle, you'd know it takes a while.

Also, Gordon wanted to play back-to-backs all season long. It's well documented, so the blame isn't entirely on him.

Players get scoped like this to clean up tissue all of the time. Some guys get it every offseason. Its generally not a big deal.

I know it's completely different sports, but Marques Colston has had his knee scoped almost every off-season the past 3-4 seasons. Not sure if it is happening this year. The argument could be made that Colston doesn't rely on his explosiveness like Gordon does, but I'm just saying.

It's not a big deal unless you dislike Gordon and are just looking for another reason to complain about him.

I didn't even complain about it

I wish we could scope some people's brains on here so they could quit overreacting, speculating, etc..

Hey da_Throne, now that you're ankle is fully healed after 10 years of rest and you're hooping it up at the local gyms around the city, you gonna tryout for the Summer League and take EJ's spot? I mean, surely you have a few years of NBA caliber ball in you since he's obviously now done due to an ankle clean up procedure to remove scare tissue.

The majority of professional athletes aren't having surgery done yearly like clock work. Again I expressed there's several degrees to surgery. Cherry picking some people that's forced to have continual work done is the minority. Can you get by having your knee scoped year after year of course never said you couldn't. However everytime a player does it's a cause for concern. As Colston has a history of missing games.

This same thing happened to my knee when I tore my ACL. They tried to clean it up and rehab. Didn't work and I blew it again. They then did reconstruction. So, it is possible it isn't his fault he has been having trouble with his knee.

Not a matter of fault. It's just as real a problem.

Well, one man's trash is the next man's treasure. You can take this as injury prone or you can acknowledge the fact that Gordon was out there playing on that ankle, so at the very least, he is less soft than people want to give him credit for.

Hey Guys ! I'm in my 5th year of my medical cursus in France and I am following right now an orthopedist surgeon during 3 months for my training.
We have just done an arthroscopic surgery today. It's really a minor surgery especially since EG hasn't any damage in his ankle.
His ankle will be swollen and and painful for a few weeks but he will be able to train this summer .
If you want more details I can ask my boss

Meanwhile David Lee got some minutes for G.S. in playoffs already after his surgery and that Curry guy is playing with one eye. Hopefully Gordon gets healthy soon.

David Lee was trotted out there in that uniform just to pump up the crowd. He played under 2 minutes.

Though if you wanted to talk about the grit shown by pretty much the entire Bulls team...

Imagine the frustration level of the people in Chicago. We're frustrated with EG10 but that clown has been cleared for over 2 months while his team is wilting away.

He hasn't had surgery. He said surgery is a likely possibility once the season is over.

No he does not. In his 7 year career he has had only 1 season where he played in less than 14 games. In the NFL, unless you are a QB (or unless you are Big Ben), it is pretty normal to miss a game or 2 throughout the year.

I'm not surprised. He had a sore ankle for a lengthy period towards the end of the season. I'm much more sensitive to the knee than any other part of his body. I'm not concerned at all.

Doesn't help when WWL goes to the break with the teaser "coming up, Eric Gordon goes under the knife.. AGAIN!.."

    ridiculous.

  22. #72
Nothing to worry about here folks. He'll be back before D. Rose.

  23. #73
If this was any other player sans Brandon Roy and Greg Oden, no one would care. Move on folks non-issue. Like UNO Gracias said in another thread "can we get back to bashing Vasquez and making excuses for Rivers"?

    I kid

Or how many NBA2k trade scenarios try put him in! lol

If anything hopefully this helps people realize we aren't moving him this summer.
