Next Year's Draft Class

All year i've been in favor of drafting otto porter, i think he has a complete game and would be a good fit and improve any team he goes to, but after looking deeper into next year's draft classI dont know if I have ever seen a draft class with so many great small forward prospects. I believe they have a couple otto porter's, paul george's and basically any skill set SF u want in next year's draft.

However I don't see any true great PG floor generals, let alone any Trey Burkes, the only 2 good PGs I see are Marcus Smart and Andrew Harrison who are both combo guards. If we draft Trey Burke regardless of where we finish next year we could find our SF for years to come.

The list is absolutely insane, hopefully we can land Trey Burke, but say we wind up with the 5th pick and mclemore noel porter and burke are all gone i'd still be very happy to get oladipo

Along with a great talent in anthony davis, and a young, efficient ryan anderson, wether or not Gordon works out, we have the salary, trade pieces, and overall great deep talent in next year's SF class to truely have a great team down the road.

We have so many possibilities and different routes we could take, its truely great.

Next year we will be picking somewhere in the teens. We might not land Wiggins or Parker, but we will get a solid 4th or 5th player to add to our core of Davis, Ryan, and whoever we draft/sign this year.

Agreed, it won't be Wiggins or Parker, unless we luck out in the lotto and land a top 3 pick, wouldnt that be awesome.

But in the teens we could have our choice of Randle, GR3, Vonleh, Grant or Hairston, all of them are top 10 talents who fall because of how insanely deep this draft is.

First things first, find out what pick we get in the lotto then wait to see who falls to us in the draft, i cannot freaking wait!

This is another reason I feel we shouldn't address SF via the draft this year. This team building thing takes well thought out planning into the future. If we are almost guaranteed to get a 3 that's ranks higher or close to Porter this year it's more strategic to fit some other position that isn't going to be loaded the following year. You have to think ahead and always leave room for to wiggle.

This is also one of the reasons, aside from the fact that I don't like the guy, that I'm ok trading Gordon for a pick next year and a young vet that may not be Gordon's equal or have as much potential. With two picks in a deep draft next year, we can really make sure we get that young wing who can be the Manu, to Davis' Duncan; the Pierce to his Garnett.

No way did I forget about Selden, i just have him as a SG since he's 6"4.75
I also think he is a top 8 pick and no way we land him. if he grew 2 inches which he could since he is a high school senior, and he fell to us I would snatch him in a second!

He measured 6"6 in shoes

his game is so smooth, he is possibly the best athlete in the draft not named wiggins, he also has a great jumpshot and great passer. He reminds me so much of Vince Carter, I think he will be a prototype SG and dominate, but with the league becoming smaller he could play SF.

Still my favorite player for us would be Julius Randle, i see a mix of kevin durant and chris webber in his game. He's 6"9 can shoot, create for himself, rebound, and shoot in traffic. He is also a great kid who has a love for basketball.

I don't disagree with you. But the question becomes, who will trade for a seemingly injury-prone Gordon and his $14 million salary? Especially since all the other teams know that next years draft is loaded too.

I would really like to get Burke in the first and get our wing of the future next year. Burke will speed things up for us. He can get Aminu involve in the fast break and finally have someone to pass it to Davis when he runs down court. I think we may pick 10-12 next year so we can get someone to compliment Burke and Davis at the 3.

i hate to not play along, but its too early to tell. theres always guys who boom and bust. for instance porter wasn't on anyones radar and now he's a top 5 pick. guys like xavier henry and byron mullen are the opposite
