I don't want Gordon going to another team and playing great, and the Pelicans wondering what could have been. They kept him when they could have let him go to the Suns, so they might as well keep him.

I view it more as Bogut. I know he missed some time this season, but with the way he's playing? GS got a steal.

They kept him as not to have traded CP3 away for Aminu and Rivers. We let him go to PHX we get nothing in return we trade him now we at least acquire so asset/s. Hopefully a high draft pick this year or next.

Yep. For Monta Ellis who jacks up shot after shot after shot?

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

From what i remember Phoenix was willing to part with two first rounders (their own and the Lakers) plus Gortat and Lopez for Gordon. I dont think Demps turns this down just so "It looks like they got something besides Austin and Aminu." I just think they anticipated Gordon wouldnt have another knee problem (so soon anyways). But what do i know? I am a lowly peasant lurking a forum.

From my recollection PHX was playing hard ball with us. Their management team refused to trade us anything.

This is right. If they wanted a trade, the last thing they would have done is set him up with an offer sheet.

I wonder if Phoenix would give up their first round pick for Gordon assuming they don't land a top 2 pick. You have to think that they'd regard Gordon much higher than anyone outside of Noel and McLemore in this upcoming draft.

We discussed this before. I think we would have to take back Beasley's contract. I would do it the cap space we gain more than covers Beasley's contract. And it would more than likely give us the backcourt of my dreams.

This is by far the best team in the NBA in terms of FA sigings this year Gordon, Dragic, Beasley, wow yall jump started the rebuilding proces 2-4 years" bwahahaha

Suns forward Michael Beasley is the subject of an investigation regarding an alleged sexual assault, according to police in Scottsdale, Ariz.

    So much for that idea...

Sounds like a dozen other guys. The more I hear this knock on players, the less I find it meaning anything to me.

    Couple questions.

    1. How could we trade Gordon for Beasley and their 1st round pick? I thought we can't trade Gordon to the suns until after the draft (supposedly 1 year after he signed his offer sheet)

    2. Is Gordon's no trade clause where he can refuse a trade if he doesn't like the team for his entire contract or just the first year?

    3. If we cant trade Gordon to the Suns until after the draft is it possible we could do an under the table deal agreeing on the trade in principle and tell them who to draft for us and we could come out with either mclemore or oladipo with their pick and burke with our pick? Has an under the table deal like this ever been done? Im guessing if so they dont have to honor it and could change their mind?

The Suns aren't trading their pick for Gordon (with his max contract +15% trade kicker, injury history, poor attitude and average play). They just hired McDonough as their GM - Celtics assistant GM who is known for his great scouting and was instrumental in the selection of Rondo and Bradley.

With hiring of Boston's McDonough, Suns direction is clear: No more stopgap short-term free agents, rebuild through multiple picks in draft.

That's huge, guys. Babby doesn't want to get on the treadmill for the 8th seed again.

Yes. Oladipo and Burke seem like the perfect young backcourt. Trey is a ball dominant lead guard that makes excellent decisions and is equally efficient at creating for himself as he is for others. Oladipo is a high motor slasher that can get out on breaks and run. Has all the makings of a defensives stoppers. Is a much improved shooter. Burke weakness is defense which is Oladipo strength. Oladipo weakness is creating for himself and turning the ball over all strengths of Burke.

    1. You answer this with number 3

    2. Just one year.

    3. This would be the only way to acquire PHX pick. We they them who we want in order when they pick then we trade weeks later when Gordon can legally be traded.

Good find. Sounds like a smart GM IMO. I think a lot will depend on how each FO feels about this specific draft and their respective selection.

If McDonough and Bobby feel there aren't any corner stone players in this draft, that player isn't currently on the roster, and Gordon could be that player I think they may be willing to deal. However those quotes does make it seem much less likely than earlier before.

Weird, considering that's the opposite of what Boston did.
