    Men have feelings? Weird.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

In May 2007, Van Gundy received an offer to replace the fired Rick Carlisle as head coach of the Indiana Pacers. Van Gundy turned down the offer, but began interviewing for other head coaching jobs. He was considered a lead candidate to become head coach of the Orlando Magic and also the Sacramento Kings. However, the Magic hired Billy Donovan. Shortly thereafter, Donovan decided he wanted to back out of the deal and return to the University of Florida. Finally on June 5, 2007, the Magic released Donovan and offered another contract to Van Gundy.[6] ESPN SportsCenter reported that the Heat allowed Van Gundy to coach the Magic in exchange for a second-round draft pick in 2007 and the right to swap first-round picks in 2008 or another 2008 second-round draft pick and cash.

    Cliff Paul?

The insiders learned a year ago that Paul had no intention of leaving, for more reasons that the fact he was on a promising young team in Lala Land. Paul wasn’t just on the Clippers, he had so much input, he was virtually running the team. It was even acknowledged by a Clippers official, noting, “This is Chris’s roster.” HoopsHype

This is the kind of stuff that makes me uneasy. Now players are GMs and Stars? I'm ok with input. i'm not ok with final say.

And that's why their butts are watching the rest of the playoffs from home.

That's why he's not coming back. Benson and his brain trust would never allow a player to have that much power.

I think you're totally right. They've shown that already and wouldn't let one person do that. Not now. It's all about "their" plan and path right now.

Getting Paul would usurp the whole Pelicans rebrand and rebuild in Benson's mind, imo.
    Wherehappens.

Exactly why Byron Scott will be his coach next year, and neither will ever win a championship (at least as Clippers).

I don't think Benson is that dumb to not want the best PG in the game, best player in franchise history, and top 5 player in the league as the front runner of his rebrand.

Paul left b/c of what the team/organization had become. What better than to bring him back to show how drastically this team has changed that the player who "forced his hand" now sees the light and the prodigal son of New Orleans returns. That would show more change to this team than anything else.

I don't know if he will come back, and I'm not sure if we'd be contenders even if he did, mainly because our defense will still be lacking, specifically in the post.
We still need one more big, a bruiser, an enforcer in the paint, Davis probs won't be a lockdown defender just yet, needs a few years to build up strength. If we can get that big, happy days.

You realize he left for the Clippers not the Lakers right?

The Clippers has been the model of how not to run a team pretty mich every year before landing Paul. So if you think the only reason Paul left was basketball related or FO personel I strongly disagree. Sterling is the worst owner maybe in league history. He just started opening the wallet and he really has done much of it. If Chris really cared about winning there were far more attractive teams he could have demanded to be traded to. He want a large market and anybody who thinks other wise probably aren't carefully analysing the situation.

Considering the circumstances, and the roster already in place... I think LAC was far more a desirable destination that any other franchises.

He knew he wasn't going to be traded to a team that could win the title last season, so of course he went to the big market. It made sense.

100% agree with this. He's a prima donna that only cares about his "brand."

    Rumor CP3 Back to N.O.????

I know it's a long shot, but this short video doesn't seem to bode well for the Clippers.
