First post but not the last

Love the hornets and new pelicans. Long time lurker now looking to be active on the forums. Love the podcast and all the info everyone posts.

I had the pleasure of seeing Gordon's first game against the bobcats live and I have to say he looked amazing, but then what happened? I can understand everyone's frustration with him, but on the positive he has a long offseason to heal and get closer to the player we saw in L.A. I know a lot of people want to see who we will take with this years pick, but I'm in favor of trading it. I think we have a young enough team and need to start either bringing in veterans to mentor who we have or make sure this is the last lottery pick we have. Personally I don't mind G.V. at point because I love his passion, but his defensive lapse hurt out team. I believe if we can get Andre I in at sf, our defense becomes more solid, but I think A.I. Contributes more with the more touches he gets. Ideally I would like to see either Lopez or G.V. Moved while there value is high. I believe Bledsoe and A.I. Would give us two Monty players who will complement each other on both ends. A.I. Can take some handle duties off his plate or moved Gordon to pg and share running the team with A.I. And trade for a legit center.

    Welcome!

I am of the opinion that Iguodala is too old for this team. By the time we're ready to contend he'll be like what, 32? I prefer to spend the money on someone else.

I agree with the idea of moving Lopez and Vazquez.

I just can't say no to one of my favorite players in the league. So of course I think we should look hard at Iggy.

Gordon had all of last year to get healthy and how did that work for him?

There is a difference between having young players and having the right young players. Veteran leadership can be found anywhere. Young hungry self driven players should be our aim. Between what we owe Gordon and what it'll take to snag Iggy would eat the cap space we have and doesn't even guarantee a playoff seed. Slow and steady should be the motto.

Wasn't it iggy that took Anthony Davis under his wing for the olypics? If so there might be something to it

Yeah. But who didn't take AD under their wing during the Olympics? Dude was under more wings than the Buffalo Wing Eating Contest Disaster of '04 which never happened.

My only thing is that we need to cash in either via trade or the contracts we have now. If AD is 2-3 years from being a superstar what is the point of keeping Grevis or Lopez. No one wants to pay them once their contracts are up. What about Jason smith, he's at a great price now, but how much are you willing to spend to keep him. I think we either need to try to acquire or tank for next years stacked draft class or trade for veterans who will bring a winning mentality to this club to attract other free agents. My biggest fair is to get stuck like the hawks or jazz. Teams that have talent but not enough to ever get past the first round or make the playoffs so they are always stuck with subpar picks. I still believe we need one more big pick, I was hoping it would be this year, but I don't see superstars in this draft. I would be fine with us trading this years pick plus GV or Lopez or whoever for a possible lottery pick next year. Any possibility Lopez, this years pick and Whoever to make salaries work for bobcats 2014 first round
