Why would anyone advocate signing Dwight Howard? He's proven over the last two years he's an awful headcase, why bring that to NOLA? He admitted the other day he's still not healed from the back surgery, at least that's his excuse for playing so poorly this past year.
You realize that we were like 5th worst in the entire nba? And now with paul and howard we would automatically have serious, almost certain chances at the title in an hypotethical next year? Because i think only certainty of playoffs and a reasonable probability of going all the way could lure BOTH here. The lakers with bryant, nash, artest, gasol and whoever else, just barely made it to the playoffs, the clippers are going to be kicked out, and if not in the 1st round then in a short time anyway. But paul - whoever - whoever - davis - howard + rhyno from the bench = championship? Please. I'm not sure it'd work on nba 2k, much less in real basketball.
No one in the running but Atlanta has the cap space to sign both and Atlanta might want to trade Horford to get Dwight if Dwight would rather play with BFF Josh Smith than Horford. The Rockets would probably trade Lin and Asik, the Mavericks would trade Marion and Carter (which is why they aren't really in the running) and the Pelicans would build a package around either Gordon or Anderson if all the stars aligned and Dwight and CP3 would rather play with a bunch of kids than playoff ready All Star level talents.
Well, you're wrong all the same. The Lakers barely made the playoffs because Nash wasn't the floor general they expected to get, coupled with total ineptitude on defense thanks to Mike D'Antoni not knowing what defense even is. Monty doesn't have that problem.
You add Chris Paul and Howard to our team somehow, through the super evil villainy of Dell Demps and yes, we'd be a contender.
Chris Paul knows how to get the ball to playmakers and knows how to take games over when he feels like it.
That said, I find the notion sickening because I do not like Howard at all. I didn't always, but now? Want nothing to do with him. I'm the same way with Rondo or Westbrook. Even though they're all great players. Can't stand them as player personalities.
Wrong about the Lakers. 171 Games missed total between their starters and rotational players along with a mid-season coaching change is why they barely made the playoffs.
Also about Monty not having that problem????? Third to worst Defensive Efficiency ahead of Charlotte and Sacramento and you're going to vouch for his defensive prowess? You've got more faith than I do. Sure you can blame it on the players, but if he really was such a "defensive guru" he would have done better than that. (This is coming from someone who's not running at Monty with a Pitchfork and torch).
With all of that said above I still agree that CP and Dwight make a championship contender.
"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Good. Then I will.Sure you can blame it on the players
Huh. Gonna have to explain the joke there.
Anywho. You can't get water from a stone. Same way you can't get Vasquez to keep anyone out of the lane or to rotate to his man in a timely manner. But as bad as Vasquez is, Brian Roberts is worse. Also, Aminu just isn't even nearly the defender he should be at the size and athleticism. I'm ready for something different.
Hell, I'd say our best perimeter defender was Austin Rivers. Can't really count Gordon though he's really good at poking balls loose.
Any team with Paul and Howard next year are title contenders both are that good. With that said I see no possible scenario they both come here. Howard could easily be here if he wanted to pair with Paul. If they pair up it's going to be in a market like Dallas maybe even Atlanta.

Which pisses me off to no end on the pure principle alone. Winning ain't enough. Gotta win where you can get more exposure...
Still not a lot to do in a offseason except whether or not Dwight + Paul would mean contender and if the Lakers were really any good.
*Sigh*
The media needs to jump on CP3 just like they do Carmelo. CP3 had better playoff runs in NO. Last year it takes 7 games for the Clippers to get past Memphis then get swept in 4 games by SA. At least here in NO, the hornets got to game 7 in Round 2. Stay in LA CP3.
Yeah, how has Paul avoided criticism regarding his bad playoff record? He has won only two series in his career. Don't we expect more from franchise players?
How can you honestly say that we don't have a better supporting cast than the Clippers?
Davis and Griffin were nearly a wash last season in terms of advanced metrics, and Davis was only a 19 year old rookie who needs to put on weight.
Gordon >>>>>>>> Eric Bledsoe
Anderson >>>>>>> Lamar Odom
Lopez >>>> DeAndre Jordan
Jason Smith >>>> Caron Butler
Role players like Rivers (6th man), Vasquez (trade bait), Roberts (spacer), and Miller (spacer). I even think we could get a guy like Matt Barnes to follow CP over to our team at the vet minimum. He'd give us a nice defensive veteran presence, and he can space the floor as well.
Bill Simmons tweeted he heard CP3 might not come back to LA.
https://twitter.com/BillSimmons/stat...96603188998144Also hearing there's a legit chance CP3 doesn't sign there now. It's wide-open. They'd have to hire a coach he likes, and even then...
He probably didn't hear anything. It's just what a lot of people will be thinking after a disappointing first round loss, especially since he didn't sign that 3 year extension.
