    CONCEPT81: Introducing 'PELICANS REPORT' our new web logo

    Since meeting Joe Gerrity by chance at my bar, we discussed the updates that will be taking place to the site with the upcoming rebrand of the team. He informed me that the new name of the site would indeed be 'Pelicans Report.com' and I was given free reign to come up with what I thought would be a great logo/banner for the page.

    In trying to keep the design minimal and tied into as much as possible to the team without infringing, this is what I came up with and has been approved as the new site logo to be updated in the near future. It's been a pleasure to do this and I thank Joe and his team for their support. Hope you all like it!

    NOTE: The image is offset because of it's size. Please right click and hit view image to see it in full display

    I didn't have them printed the first time. A guy on SaintsReport asked me if he could and I told him it was fine as long as I got some shirts out of the deal, I didn't care. I do know that Loomis actually saw it by a SR member at one of the practices and he liked it so that's about as cool as it gets. I think I have the thread saved on my account over there so I'll see if anybody wants more and if he's willing to do another run. If not, I'll consider ordering them myself.

    He made it and it looked sweet, but we didn't want to infringe too much on the team's design.

    Plus huge thanks to BigDub for this. The new site should look sweet. He'll be helping us with color schemes and whatnot also.

    His bar is truly my favorite in town, even though it's almost 15 minutes away from my house.

    That was my initial plan and the reason why I chose a font similar to what they will be using. The only thing I added to the font was the little 'bumps' in the midsection to make it look as close as possible to the team.

    Here is the original logo that I came up with but was decided to be too close to what the team is using. Hey...I gave it a shot!

    Yeah I thought so! But I knew the odds of getting that one approved without the possibility of the Pelicans' brass coming in and telling us to take it down for being too similar wasn't in my favor.

    Both look good. Great work! I really like the second one, but I can understand not wanting it to be too similar to the official logo. After a quick look, it seems that the main differences are the font, the curvature of the text, and the location of the basketball (maybe some other stuff I missed as well). I completely understand not wanting to get in trouble, do you think you could use that text if the other two changes stayed?
