Thread: Williams will Continue to push Gordon to allstar status.

Williams will Continue to push Gordon to allstar status.

"He’s a dynamic guard, that’s why I push him,’’ said Williams, who plans to start Gordon for the second consecutive since the incident on Tuesday night when the Hornets play the Lakers at the Staples Center. "I’m not going to allow him to settle for where he is in his career right now. He’s got to get better. If he gets better, he should be an All-Star someday.’’

Still believe he will be in a Pels uniform next year. unless we get a monster deal for him. if he is healthy , a rivers and gordon back court is nice to see.

I just wish it would just click with this guy. He would truly be our cornerstone if he bought in and played like his hair was on fire. The grass is greener is a dangerous mind set

It never looks like Gordon tries. Runs slow, no off ball movement, lazy weak side defense, lazy on defensive transition, lazy in rotating, lazy second half shots.

The guy just oozes, I'm in it for me and me only.

Or he is just trying to up his value by showing he isn't injured and can play without restrictions. Should have been playing in b2b's about a month ago.

We disagree. For the most part this season, Gordon plays hard. I think he goes through spurts where he is a) tired from a lack of conditioning, understandable as he missed half the season, and b) frustrated because he isn't playing up to his standards and the team is out of the playoffs. I think that's why Monty pulled him, because he knows how good Gordon is and can be. Gordon and Davis can lead us to the promised land. Monty knows that.

They haven't changed their tone since we first traded for him. Monty and Demps are high on Gordon as a player. They just hate the injuries.

Why are the doctor's holding him back from doing so then? Or, why are they saying the doctor's don't want back to backs?

We do disagree, but Gordon has not shown me in 50 games that he is a player that is leading anyone to the Promised land. He's a small piece to a bigger puzzle, and I think upgrades in other positions are much more valuable to building a playoff team.

If we could land another starter that like Gordon, who is seen as sort of on the same tier as David West, I think this team could finally start to get over the hump. Right now AD is our cornerstone and Gordon's ability to Draw help defenders as well as play great spot-on D fits perfectly with Davis. If we can find a PG or SF that can space the floor and has the same level of D, we may be looking at a true "big 3" with Anderson as our 6th man.

The dude just dosent fit our squad, I wish he did(and was healthy) but he just dosent fit here. He makes cringe inside thinking of what he could have been this year.

    R.I.P. to HunnyB/FlyGirl

He'll go somewhere else a play at a high level, but the guy doesn't fit with Monty's style, he doesn't or didn't want to be here, and he's lazy.

It sucks, but Gordon cannot be on this team if we want to compete.

Williams will Continue to push Gordon to allstar status.

High level for 20 games. The other 20 will be trying to get back into game shape.

I still think he is on the team next year, monty snapping at him is what he needs and gordon needs to know monty did it for gordon's benefit.

Like ive said 100 times gordon will be a pelican atleast until next years trade deadline. The pelicans will see what he can truely do with 1 entire offseason to get healthy and also acquire some players in FA and draft to help. If he isn't the guy who we thought he would be then he will be traded next trade deadline, we are still young and he doesnt have to go now.

Remember jeff green was thought to have a horrible contract and dealt with injuries and everyone was ready to give up on him and finally this season everything clicked and he finally got it, gordon is only 24, lets give him until next years trade deadline. Id really like to draft otto porter while signing jeff teague if the price is right, and trade GV and lopez for a better center and see what this team can do.

im with you on this except for the jeff teague part. i think Rivers can be our starting PG but if Dell or Monty think we can use rivers off the bench like Jamal Crawford. i think we draft a PG and go small Forward in free agency.

Oh ya definetly, the reason I said jeff teague is because dell said he will address the PG position, we could use teague for a year or 2 whille rivers develops and then trade teague or say rivers doesnt become what we were looking for we could keep teague and trade rivers for whatever value he is worth. I like teague a lot, he can defend, score, pass, shoot, drive, he shoots a very high percentage also while being a knockdown 3point shooter

Noel would be really fun. Zeller wouldn't be terrible, either.

  21. #21
len wouldnt be a terrible pick, he needs a guard to get him the ball so hes better in a half court offense but he is good in the post, good mid range, good FT and good defender and rebounder, they are calling him a young zydrunas ilgauskas

if you want to trade someone over the summer, you have to say things like this. "I can't stand this ******* because he's lazy and we're stuck paying him $58 mil. Should have let him go to Phoenix!" does not get the teams calling you about trading for him.

while i'm not saying Monty's lying, i wouldn't believe it completely.

Yeah, a scoring 2 guard doesn't fit on our team. Something we've lacked in God knows how long. Please.

I think this is what Monty needs to do. Gordon obviously has an ego, all ball players do. But Monty to openly speak in public about pushing him to greatness is good. Let's Gordon know what the organisation thinks of his ability, whilst at the same time letting him know he has no free passes. We need more of it, if it continues and Gordon doesn't react positively then let's ship him. But want to hold onto him until at least next seasons trade deadline.

When we draft Trey Burke, Rivers will lose mins and maybe that supposed PG spot. Then again, Maybe Rivers could be a better Eric Gordon!! Drafting a PG like Burke will shake things up enuff to get value from Eric Gordon, one way or another.
We had quite a few interesting conversations as we pondered and navigated the nightly canopy.
