Who would you draft or other?
1. Porter
2. Oladipo
3. Burke
I think Porter is the safest choice and the best player available (while also perhaps filing the biggest need) even though he doesn't have Oladipo's upside.
1. Burke
2. Oladipo
3. Porter
Ideally I would love to trade Gordon and draft both Burke and Oladipo. That would be my backcourt of the future.
Christ this is a friggin' hard choice. I like all these dudes. I like Burke's fledgling potential to take and make huge baskets at the end of games. I like Oladipo's ability to make huge plays on both ends of the court and how friggin' athletic he is. And I like Porter's all-aroundness and his size, length, and athleticism.
I'm torn between porter and Burke.
If we keep gordon and sign jennings then I want porter, if we trade gordon for a SF and sign jennings ill take oladipo, if we keep gordon and sign a SF ill take burke
Porter may be the BPA. Either way, they're all the best avaible so I think we would then look at need and take Porter.
Don't sleep on Autin Rivers....
Otto porter is just meh to me. Yes he's decent at a lot of things, but both Burke and Oladipo have the potential to great at some things. I'd take a great offensive player or defensive player over someone who will be so-so at everything.
1. Porter
2. Burke
3. Oladipo
Alot of people are saying Porter is so so. That must be a projection for the NBA because he looked very good at all aspects for Georgetown this season. He carried his team this year, even more than Burke did. Burke had alot more to work with. I do think Burke has more potential, but I think Porter brings everything you want at the SF spot and that is our biggest hole. He is also projected to go higher in every single mock draft i've seen going back to August so there's no doubt he's BPA if they're both there when we pick. I really want Burke though, as well. I think maybe we could work out a trade with some like OKC and try to jump back into the lottery to get Burke assuming he's there when they pick and they don't really need any more lottery players. Maybe take a bad contract from them that wouldn't kill our cap space and get two young we really like and build our team around them, AD, AR, and Ryno. I like Porter and Burke alot so this was tough, but Porter is the pick for me.
Would really like for the coaching staff to get him in the gym and see how well he shoots. He shot effectively well for being the only guy on that team who was worth much for scoring. I just hate seeing Aminu catch the ball at the 3 point line with a wide open shot and him hesitate with his decision making. The funniest is when he pump fakes from like 20 feet from the basket and his defender actually JUMPS! Hahahaha.
ya we need to find a way to sign aminu to a 1 year large deal, overpay for 1 year just incase he can finally put it together.
Gotta go Porter, by a nose. One of those scenarios where there are no bad choices.
@DanielVeuleman
I'll be happy with any of them. They all make our team better in different ways.
It would have to be quite large for him to except a one year deal. Other teams will be offering multi-year deals. I hope we resign him. I think somewhere in the 3 mil a season ball park is fair for what he's shown. His shooting hasn't improved too much per say, but the rest of his game and his confidence is leaps and bounds from where it was last year. He hasn't had a whole off season to work on his shooting since he got here, so i'm not giving up hope that it can improve. Do I think he'll ever be Paul George from the arc? Hell no. But can he get more consistant on his mid range game? I see no reason why not. I'd love to have a SF rotation of:
Porter/Aminu/Miller (with Miller also getting minutes at the backup SG spot)
You have a do it all Batum type for a starter, a high energy defensive and rebounding freak as your backup, and a role player who is smart, can play mutliple positions, and can hit threes getting some minutes too. I think our SF problems would be gone if we could draft Porter and resign Aminu.
Burke
Porter
Oladipo
Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams
Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston
Porter, Burke, Oladipo.
Great question.
"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
I like Porter for his play on offense and defense. The only thing is that I see a lot of SF in next years draft so go best player available and get a temp 3 if not Porter.
My order of preference would be Burke, Porter Jr, Oladipo. But I honestly would love to have any of those 3.
Dipo
Porter
Trade down for McCollum.
I'm telling you draft Burke this year and we will be an amazing team .
I was for Olidipo but the more I've watched Burke in the tournament the more I think he should be the choice.
Oladipo!,,,,,,, it's not close,
U Sony pick for need in the NBA, you try and pick all stars and hope for starters.
Watch his highlights on draft express, can finish as well as any guard, shoot the rock, and chooses his shots wisely. Hat the athleticism, to be a
Lock down defender
Looks better than waiters did.
Next 3
Smart/mclemore, Noel gone (my next 3)
1 Rudy gobert
2 Anthony Bennet (spread floor, d, muscle>porter w no shot)
2 dj Calhoun (everybody! Everybody, needs a guard that can fill it from deep so they don't sag in the lane) he is Steph curry
