"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

When I watch him I see a guy that's more athletic than he plays. Kind of like Austin Rivers.
He can get you on his hip with an elite first step, but he can't really get you off his hip after that. He lacks the speed. But that's where the strength comes in (something that Rivers doesn't have), to where he can muscle his way to the rim. That's definitely a concern for how effective he'll be in the league, but I think he does enough other things that it won't be too difficult of a problem.
He can see everywhere on the court, he can be driving left and you can have a guy cutting to the rim from the right corner and he'll find you. He's obviously a great shooter, but he's also really crafty. He kind of reminds me of Chris Paul in the way that he may not be able to blow by you on every possession (Chris Paul is more athletic and quick, but he too sometimes has trouble getting players off his hip) but he can use his craftiness and use effective dribbles to get where he needs to go, or set up the offense and his teammates. But then again, in the open court (like Paul) he really has a second gear that he can go to.
I also have no idea what McNamara is talking about saying he can't put pressure on the ball defensively. No idea. But I really like him.
I think Burke has to be the pick unless we land top 3.
So after smart, mc, and Noel... Then Burke? Anyone else think differently about pick #4? I like Burke over oladipo, porter and Bazz personally.
The reason people say Burke isn't athletic because when they're thinking of athletic they're picturing Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose, guys who are fast, can rise, and are lightning quick.
Outside of McLemore, Smart, Noel, and Burke I'm not really all that in love with anyone. And I think I put Burke in there mostly because we need a PG. I like Oladipo as well, but like I've said, I don't think his offensive contribution will be all that great.
McLemore, Porter, Burke, Bennett, Oladipo, and Muhammad are pretty much all I'd be okay with going after. Don't get a good vibe out of Noel, Smart, or any of the other bigs. And everyone else grades too low to take lotto.
Smart? He could very well be the best player in this class by the time they're up for new contracts.
Same is said about a lot of great PGs in today's game, just means Smart is aggressive. Not that Burke isn't, but Burke has that leadership quality where he controls the pace of the game.
If the draft falls like this, is everyone on board with taking Shabazz over, say, Glenn Robinson? I know shabazz has gotten more ink, but I'm wondering if GRIII's upside is higher. Thoughts?
gr3 has more upside at becoming a complete player as in a scorer rebounder and defender, i could see him averaging 18-7-3 in the league but bazz has more scoring potential and i see him averaging 20-4
I would love to see him go back for one more year after Burke is gone and see him improve his jump shooting and attacking as he has been criticized as being laid back. It's understandable when Hardaway Jr. and Burke are leading the group, but will he be able to be that go-to-guy if he's focused on or will he be like Jame McAdoo?
3 problems with his game right now. Very inconsistent shooting, inability to create, and disappears for long stretches(confidence?). He needs another year and I can't imagine anyone would take him in the top 10 right now. Tremendous potential but his game needs a lot of development. If he stays, he will have every opportunity to expand his game and naturally develops into a go-to option.
Smart will give a team one tough PG, that's for damn sure.
Of the top 8 prospects mentioned who do ppl believe will be a starter from day one in the NBA
and more importantly start for the Pels?
I want a player who will contribute straight away not another project like Rivers.
