True. But that's not at all what this thread is about.

It's about 42 and the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. Right?

When your life ends, dig into the details. I was surprised when I did.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Dude, you need to calm down and read what is written.

I addressed most of that above (it is there if you want to read it) but: there is such a thing as kind of opposite, "meaning?" means I should explain what I wrote, not my conclusions, and matter of fact means factual without other info or implications, so not condescending.

Now respond to what I wrote here or to what is in the article if you want to continue this. Regashing baseless insults or the ones accusing me of writing well has a retort somewhere up there.

Clearly that's what it has become. But I felt we needed to all relax, do some "WOOOOSAH"ing, and reflect on the wonderful uni-browed specimen we have playing for us.

So let's bring it on topic, then.

What is Davis' playing weight next year?

Not that much different from this year. Maybe a couple of pounds heavier. You let him grow naturally. He doesn't look like a guy who will have trouble getting bigger naturally. Let nature take its course.

Well he entered at 222 right? Players don't generally gain anything during the season, quite the opposite so I'd say he is a bit over 230 next year? 235 would make me very very happy.

Opposite is a direct counterpart, so no, there is not kind of opposite. That would be different, dissimilar or a like word.

I understand what matter-of-fact means and I know it isn’t, on it’s own, condescending; however, when you are matter-of-fact in a discussion forum then yes it is.

    Meaning:
    1
a: the thing one intends to convey especially by language : purport
b: the thing that is conveyed especially by language : import

‘Meaning’ with a question mark means what did you intend to convey?

…I’ll keep going as long as you wish. You’re a phony-smart, condescending professor of some sort who thinks he’s intellectually superior on Hornetsreport, dude. It’s all throughout how you post. And I don’t really care who you’ve stroked at a game that wants to stick up for you. I will continue to call it like I see it and you and I both know you fancy yourself a superior intellect. I’m around people like you all day long.

Dude, respect our fellow posters and PM me your insults.

And you have no idea who I am or who they are.

Save your little rant. No one wants to read it (like you want to read the aricle I posted), it accomplishes nothing (because its baseless), and you just look foolish.

240 would make him a monster in my opinion, but I think he has more of a chance of growing an inch or two before gaining that 15 lbs. of muscle.

Like I said, I'll go as long as you wish. You can save your reverse psychological bs. No, I have nothing better to do than call out phony, condescending pseudo intellects.

Telling me to have respect and keep it out of the post while posting that in the post. Philosophical! You're smarter than that, no? (at least to yourself)

I think he'll be around 230. He'll be stronger for sure, but more importantly he'll have experience under his belt, and he'll learn how to bang with the boys even if he's not as strong.

You have failed to make a point, address anything I've said, and ignored the analysis you did not do yourself for whatever reason.

Keep on with the insults, but try to come up with new ones... this is boring.

Davis is still growing. That is going to add to his weight over and above any muscle. Minor weight changes, then, are less likely. I'm thinking... 10-15 pounds.

My point is that you should find an alternative/better way to convey your thoughts and opinions (or lack thereof) because your brevity and matter-of-fact tone can come of condescending and may get you called out for being a pompous person. That's my point. I've also addressed everything you've said in detail and provided you with definition to help guide you along. You've would rather disregard what I'm saying and continue to play innocent and oblivious, which is fine, but my posts will stop when yours do.

Admittedly petty, but I've seen you with this crap for way too long. You're just a dude who posts on HR.com, you're not a basketball philosopher or the next John Hollinger, so when someone asks you to clerify something I'd recommend just doing so instead of providing some lesson in your masterful ways or for me to 'do the work' as you put it.

Say what you looked at and what you got from it and that's it, then we can discuss stuff as intended by a message board and don't have to go down this road.

Not everyone feels like solving puzzles or riddles all the time.

Imo, when saintsinNO asked 42 what he meant, 42 could've just went ahead and put the link to his findings/diggings/article instead of saying how 'clear' it was. This thread would probably be 2 pages less while yet still on topic.

Let's please try to ease up on the personal attacks/insults.

Agreed. Provoked? No. Was condescending? Yes. That's all I said and it spiraled from there... I find a lot of his stuff comes of that way, but I'm ready to drop it whenever. I'm just not going to let a dude keep talking and defending his position that I'm don't believe. If he truly wants it to stop then all he has to do is say nothing else.

I did post the article when it was clear what he meant. He asked what my statement meant, not what one would find ir what I found or anything like it. Clarification.

Go read it if you want to weigh in.

He's choosing to pout about not asking an appropriate question and I'm the bad guy? Right.

It's not a riddle. It's not a puzzle. It's not condescending. It's not an attitude. It's not any of that.

    It's a recommendation.

    Calm down.

    Read.
