Notice who did opening tip last game?

It was AD! Lopez has done almost all the other opening tips and generally loses. AD won the tip but it was ugly. AD must have a higher vertical leap than Lopez even though he is about an inch shorter. So why hasn't he been doing the tip? I do seem to remember AD doing a tip earlier this season and I hope that AD does the tips for the rest of the season.

Interesting note: At the Hornets season-ticket lunch last week with Dell Demps I happened to ask Dell on leaving why AD did not do the opening tip. He really didn't have a good answer. He just laughed. So maybe I am the reason AD got to do the opening tip. LOL

There was a good stretch where he did do the tip, and won most of them. Not sure why they didn't stick with it.

Lopez has no vertical. You can put Aminu on the tip off and he'll likely do better than Lopez. But I'm definitely glad, he's finally getting the tip off, There's really no good reason why they never allowed him to do it regularly.

Look at his rebounding, his defensive rebound rate is at a wing player rate. Ugh.

We need to upgrade him bad.

I think Davis is our 5 of the future. He still needs to gain weight, but he's getting there. Check out a comparison on how much he's already gained, however:

Dang, there's definitely already a noticeable difference. Even from when he was on Team USA compared to now -

I think in his prime Davis would ideally split his minutes evenly between Pf and Center. I like what Anderson brings as a complement to a future Davis but in the same way the spurs use Duncan I think we need a Splitter for lineup flexibility. I would look for someone who does the complete opposite of what Ryan Anderson does.

Davis has not gained weight. I guarantee it.. You cannot post a pic of a relaxed arm and an arm in motion and compare them cause the arm in motion is being flexed. His has twig arms and legs still. He definitely weighed more in the summer but he has lost all of it

Mr. West post two picks of AD in action. The Kentucky shot is him attacking the basket. If anything his arms might be more "flexed" in that pick.

Was thinking the same thing. In his current shooting motion he looks ripped.

Also arms are only part of the equation. His legs are bird like. I think he weighs around 218

Oh I'm not saying he's become "huge." I think it's obvious there has been a slight improvement. His legs scare me. They look so fragile.

I agree that he did gain over 10 pounds or so and looked bigger at the beginning of the season, but I think he lost most of it. Try to look at him when he's standing around next game.

So much being made about Davis' weight. He's still growing. Ya'll knew he was skinny when we drafted him now everyone's in this huge rush for him to get bigger. If/when he gains weight, muscle, what have you, he'll probably do it gradually. People need to calm down and be patient. Give the young fella a little time to fill out.

I would be ecstatic if he could stay in the 235 range, but thats down the road.
