I could see young guys in bad situations (Like Phoenix and Sacramento) perhaps being excited at the prospect of joining our squad. New owner, lots of potential as a squad, minutes to be earned and most importantly a ton of cap. Plus Monty is a really solid guy who treats his players right, and when you treat people right then word gets around.
I could see this. Its fun to think about.
@DanielVeuleman
Context.
He sounds like he truly believes they can attract free agents. I think if he didn't, he probably would've said something like "Well, I'd like to believe we can so I guess we'll see".![]()
Yeah that wasn't some scripted thing, he was talking about how the guys interrupted him trying to coach defense during a game to come over and say it![]()
Wherehappens.
I wouldn't be surprised it Monty slightly exaggerated in an effort to motivate the guys on the current roster.
Support Louisiana businesses.
This is how I feel. The Hornets are known give every player regardless of status a fair shot. Guys who are buried on a deep bench or a poorly coached team will be looking for an opportunity to get a shot at meaningful playing time and the Hornets are a prime destination for hungry players looking for an opportunity.
Team had a solid owner for how long at that point? 3 months? Gordon's future was uncertain and Ryan Anderson sure is chopped liver.
Seems like the Saints sign 90% of the free agents they want. Darren Sproles, Curtis Lofton, Jon Vilma, Darren Sharper, Jabari Greer, Abrayo Franklin, Ben Grubbs to name a few. The last thing they do with any of them is overspend.
It's as simple as seeing the results this summer. Personally, I am not overly optimistic that key top notch FAs are telling Monty this, but let's see what happens this summer.
Nobody said they were young, or good. People are apparently just reminding Monty to look their way during free agency.
The practice facility seems to be coming along pretty quick.
Any pics? Can't wait to see it.
"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

I have confidence in Monty, Dell, and Mr. Benson and we will attract some good players next year, that's why i upgraded my season tickets because i just have that feeling next year is really going to be special.
Just wish the fan base was stronger. However, I have no room to talk because I rarely go to games as I can't afford to go.
Stronger in not only in numbers but also less bandwagon and more for the enjoyment of rooting for your team.
