Oh god, another Player 1 vs Player 2 argument.

You mean stubborn like people bringing up Drummond when he has nothing to do with the discussion?
When you say dribble or create his own shot... what exactly are you referring to? Didn't know there were bigs out there that prided themselves on having "dribbling" as their gamebreaker

I don't completely disagree with you but there is some truth to it. Based on what we've seen up to this point at the NBA level, his dribble drive and post moves are nonexistent.

I don't think it will be an issue long term as we've seen him dribble the ball and his handles are pretty good for a guy his size. The scary part of his development is the fact that he's averaging 13/8 WITHOUT those skills this year. That only tells you the level of potential he has in his game.

Meh, da throne is delusional. I've said it before, he just doesn't want to admit he was wrong.

Extremely talented for a first year player. I can see him dominating when he puts on weight. If he works hard enough this off season I think he could take Aldridge's spot on the all star team next year.

We can throw the Marcus Camby comparisons out the door. We are officially looking some Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnettish defensive long limbed hybrid. I mean 14 points a game with no plays, no go to moves, no nothing.. thats impressive.

I mean who are the best bigs at getting his own shot right now? Dirk? LaMarcus Aldridge? Cousins? Randolph? Amare? All of them utilize a back to the basket game or a face up game. He gets shoved off the block when he backs down, so there's no profit in it for him to do that until he gets a lower body. And I don't know why Davis doesn't use a face up game. Maybe Monty won't let him. Either way.

He's basically only pick and popping, getting stick backs, and running the floor. And he's routinely scoring mid to high teens. Can't wait to see what he comes out wit hnext.

Agreed. I can't recall seeing him get the ball and go at someone and score once this season on his own. But that will definitely come with muscle and age. What he scores now off of really just garbage and pick and pop tells me if he even adds any one-on-one game he can average in the 20's. Too good not to.

Davis has had an excellent first year. Very happy with him. What does surprise me, is that I expected more blocks. He blocks well, but I guess with all the hype about his shot-blocking ability I was expecting 3 per game out of the shoot. His offensive and defensive game overall though have been amazing and will only get better.

There are a couple of variables that keeps his blocks low. First, he's playing the PF position which make blocks harder to come by. Secondly, his overall strength and core strength isn't there yet. He gets pushed around in the paint so he's either off balanced or out of the play. Not to mention, a lot of teams try to pull him out of the paint.

The only guy who has a high block rate at the PF position is Ibaka, and we know he goes for the block 9 out of 10 times. Williams would never allow Davis to do that. Davis changes shots at a high rate and you will not see that in the stat sheets.

I remember him doing that against BJ Mullens after they had that little dust up so I can say I've seen it at least once.

He had a three game stretch a few weeks ago where he took a guy off the dribble and finished in each game.

The thing with him is, he don't have to take too many dribbles because his strides are so long. Next season, if plays are called for him, we may see more dribble drives.

Some say he can't dribble though...

The sweetest surprise for me he is that good at shooting from 15-17 feet ! I thought he would struggle more on the offensive end because of his frame. But the guy is on the right path to become a beast !

I don't think there are many 7 footers that can do this though!
    Watch from 2mins 50 seconds.
    I think he can dribble.

Definitely. Much, much better now compared to the beginning of the year. His range is West like.

Why do people say his potential is endless?

Because potential is intangible, thus has no beginning or end. /metaphysics

He is going to work at it this summer ! We should see at least 3 completely different players next season !
    A 100% healthy EG !
    A heavier AD !
    A more comfortable Rivers !
    Can't wait

I have ONE Qualm, he seems to like that jumper too much. Usually at least once a game he turns down a fairly open drive to the lane (where knowing his length he could score easily) in favour for a jumper, which in fairness isn't all that yet. Yes for a rookie 6'11 PF it's a nice stroke and it will be more consistent, but we as a team need to get to the rack more. Remember how good we looked against Denver, that was all from our penetration.
