    Austin Rivers Free Throw Shooting

Austin shot 70% from the line his senior year in high school. He shot 55% from the line this season.

    How does that happen?

When you go from being considered a #1 HS recruit to being called a bust and historically bad by the nation, those things tend to mess with you.

This, I watch Rivers warm up before the games and he makes most of his free throws. It's in his head

I predict 76% next year. We'll see. That's still not fantastic, but it's going the right way.

    College %?

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Thanks. Then I believe he will be a 70 Ish percent shooter. Not going to panic. The op is a good question though. 15 percent is a lot.

All mental. But he needs to work on his form.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

A lot of it is nerves and his shooting technique, for sure, but it is also the jump from the high school/college to the pros. The arenas they play in are massive and, I don't know if any of you have ever shot a ball in a big arena, it's not easy to shoot in there as it is in a small gym. As I think will be the case with most of Austin's game, once he calms down and slows down and takes the preassure off he will be a good player.

he and Xavier both need to enroll in Confidence 101....I have said it before, but this offseason is going to be very, very important for Austin....

The best example would be Nick Anderson... he was an 80% FT shooter until he missed those FTs in the finals... dude was 30% after that.

70% for a guard is terrible. Nerves were only a small part of his drop.
