Thread: Who should become the first person to be drafted to the pelicans?

I've been on the Burke bandwagon since the beginning of last year. He has so much heart and will you couple that with his talent and you have something special.

He shot that from 30 feet. Just because it went in doesn't make it a good shot.

    Wow burke

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Just cause it was that far away doesn't make it a bad shot either. He spotted up and shot it like a normal jumpshot. Young had switched and was guarding him. If he didn't spot up immediately like that then he would of wound up throwing up a bad shot with youngs long azz all over him. Kid has range and knows he does. It was a good shot make or miss considering the circumstances.

    It was bad shot selection.

This will go down as 1 of the greatest comebacks in NCAA history during the tournament. Classic game we are witnessing here.

If he had a guard on him then yes u call it that. Considering the time remaining and who was defending him it was not. Tell me the better shot he could of gotten off with young on him. He shot it with 4 sec left.

30 feet is a bad shot unless you don't have enough time for anything else. Nobody has range like that.

And no, he did not shoot that like a normal jumper. Look at his legs.

He didn't heave that up. He stopped n popped like he shoots all his 3s. Not saying he is a constant in that range. But he knows what he is capable of and he def thought he could make it. Which he did. Not like he just ran n heaved it up

None of that really matters. Might be overused and corny to say it, but "big time players make big time plays". He's usually shoots well beyond the college three line anyway so he had the confidence to pull the trigger. He had good form and his legs split on the way down due to the defender running into him. Well after the shot was gone.

To bad Andre Dawkins was red shirted and unable to play for Duke. He's a complete beast and no doubt IMO a top 3 player on Duke squad, you guys would love em I bet. Why is he a red shirt? IDK
2013-1014 is the season the Pelicans fanbase grows!!!!

All I'm getting at is I know exactly why he decided to shoot that right then. 1st thing is he is def the one who was taking the last shot. 2nd when young who is very long switched on him he recognized that and immediately dribbled a few feet n squared up and nailed it. Young was coming over n he knew it. If he hadn't shot that he would of dribbled closer to young and got a. More contested n possibly blocked shot. I think if he had a guard on him he would of gotten closer but with young coming at him n only a few seconds left I think he did the right thing.
