"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

He had to tell the FO or they would have just lost him for nothing though. No one trades CP3 unless he wants to be traded. The media always get ahold of things like this. I think CPs camp probably leaked it to the media so they could put whatever spin they wanted on it.
I dislike it as well. Until a gm and ownership group puts down their foot down and give up their ROI for their star the players will continue to strong arm their way out after 6-7 years (when drafting teams begin to lose leverage). I thought Orlando was the perfect scenario to stick it to a player, instead of making a stand, they got a terrible Afflalo contract and Mo Harkess. They could have made Dwight give up some money for doing it.
The media got hold of it because CP or his "camp" leaked it on purpose.. As soon as they did, we lost most of our leverage because other teams will use his desire to leave as a bargaining chip to offer us less for him.. Essentially saying "trade him for garbage, or lose him outright next year -- take it or leave it."
Also, it's not like he asked to be traded because we didn't have an owner... If there were the case, he would have been happy going to the Wolves, or the Blazers, or the Raptors ... Instead, he publicly announced that he wanted a trade, and then had his "camp" release a list of teams that he would like to play for. He cited NOLA's lack of stable ownership as a reason for leaving, but welcomed a trade to LAC with open arms? One of the most dysfunctional teams in the league for decades? Bull crap... he wanted to be a larger media market -- plain and simple. He's no different than any of the other turd superstars that think they are bigger than the team's that sunk the time and money into developing them.
Forget that clown
This is looking at things from bitter breakup glasses. If his camp doesn't leak anything he loses leverage of being able to pick he can go. Why would he do that? Because he loves New Orleans? Please.
Whether it was lack of ownership or a larger market or a combination of those two it doesn't matter. No player is going to give up their position of power because a team drafted him. Chris Paul got us value and got him where he wanted to go all in one shot. Did we get everything we could possibly get ? No. But if we're were to have, Paul wouldn't had leverage to pick his landing spot.
Again I ask. Would u rather him not to have leaked it and leave us high and dry and is get nothing ? What other play did he have besides the way he did things to be able to go where he wanted and get the hornets assets for his value ?
Also the dinosaur comment isn't fair. They added a lot of the older guys after the Paul trade.
I wish we had landed Bledsoe over Gordon.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.
I hope Trey will help me forget. I hope we trade back though (in order to get Mr. Burke). I can see somebody being there who we don't love, and somebody trading up with us to get him, meanwhile we land Burke. At least that's how I hope it plays out.
I would rather pick up a get and Trey but that just me. Better get back on topic here before somebody comes on crying about taking this thread off course.
I like Doug mcDermot btw, but isn't he a Junior? He would be better off staying another year and working on his game.

It really all depends on the lotto. If we're at 6 and Minny and Sac are behind us, I don't think Burke makes it past Sac even though they "found" Thomas.
After that he drops past Wash, OKC and the Sixers, so I could see gambling with Dallas or Utah if they really want a Bazz/Len/Zeller etc.
Not impossible.
Wanting Bledsoe over Gordon is just ignorant. Gordon STILL is probably a more valuable asset even with the injury history and the crappy contract.

NBA hasn't got enough time or people to go through and apologise for every wrong call for us last night.
