    AD's Summer Break Plans

Jen Hale said during tonight's Hornets game that Davis will go home to Chicago for only like 2 weeks... then he'll be back in NOLA w/ the Hornets (well ummm... by that time Pelicans) training staff to get better for next season

Pelicans gonna start flying high... esp. w/ AD23
"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin

She also said that he'll be working exclusively with Monty and when not with Monty, he'll be spending the majority of his time in the weight room and working on his jump shot.

And by jumpshot I hope that's just non-specific jargon for his post game.

I think post game will certainly be a part of that. I have seen Davis working on his post moves pre-game, and he whips out the jump hook during the game, but his true post moves require strength, which he doesn't have yet. I am assuming that Monty doesn't want to put too much on his plate in 1 off season, but I would expect for Davis to develop a go-to post move and a counter this off season.

is there any chance of the practice facility being ready or is AD heading to Westwego everyday? Seems kind of ridiculous for a weight room.

I remember a few months ago he tweeted something about going back to school. I guess that's out.

I wonder what new thing he is going to bring to his game next year. Every great goes home, and works on something new to bring the following season, I wonder if he plans on getting stronger, because thats 70% of his problem right there.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Free throws if he's going to be building muscle, we don't want him to turn into a deandre Jordan or
Javelle Magee at the free throw line. He needs to get way bigger/stronger but has to continue to improve his stroke. A legit big man who can shoot free throws is nearly impossible to come by. He's got the form down just has to maintain it.

When NOT with monty weight lifting and jumpshot leads me to believe when he is with Monty he will be working on Defense and Post game.

I love Davis and I cant wait to see what becomes of him. People keep saying lillard is roty but dude gets 39 minutes a game, AD gets 28.
In Lillard's 39 minutes a game he is averaging 19pts-6ast-3reb
In Davis' 28 minutes a game has is putting up 13pts-8reb-1ast-2blks
If Davis was getting 39 minutes a game mathamatically he should be averaging 18pts-11reb-1.5ast-2.8blks

    i'll take a 18-11-3 guy who is 19 over a 19-6-3 guy who is 22.

Monty has compared his frame to Lamarcus Aldridge's rookie frame and lamarcus worked with the blazers staff that offseason to put on over 20 pounds of lean muscle. I think LA could be a good gauge of how Davis should fill out his body

Good point, Monty is so good in player development I think he could have made even Julian Wright serviceable

It would be cool to see him work with one of the all time greats in the offseason too

But 7 years in the league is a long time and this picture shows just how wrong I was. I'm actually really starting to like that comparison build-wise

2 things. First, it's obvious that Davis has a much wider frame/shoulders, so he could easily put on the weight at carry it well. Monty alluded to the same thing when he was talking about LMA and Davis. Second, Davis is only 19 in that pic. He just turned 20 two weeks ago, so he is only a pup. Considering his youth and work ethic, I don't think he'll have any trouble filling out that frame.

Well the quote from Monty said the he wanted him to "live in the weight room", so yeah that's a good bet.

Cannot WAIT to see AD beasting in Pelicans gear.
    Wherehappens.
