Thread: JJ Hickson as of late

  1. #1

    JJ Hickson as of late

I know everyone is against having Hickson as our center because of his height, i dont care if the dude is 5"2, if u can do ur job u can do ur job, ask charles barkley and larry johnson, the dude is an animal and this is what he has been doing lately

On the season he is averaging 29 minutes a game and putting up - 13.1PPG - 11RPG - shooting 57% from the field and 70% from the free throw line. Also has an efficient rating of 19.75

Now for his competition vs the best centers in the league:

    points-rebounds-opponent

    9-21 vs noah
    18-15 vs monroe 14-9
    12-16 vs tyson
    14-14 vs robin lopez 6-4
    23-11 vs Duncan 18-8
    19-11 vs Marc Gasol 12-6
    12-13 vs marc gasol 23-12
    18-16 vs pekovic
    18-14 vs mcGee 4-3
    22-11 vs Dwight 19-16
    25-16 vs Gortat 12-5
    21-11 vs al jefferson 12-6
    26-15 vs dallas
    14-13 vs Hibbert 9-7
    20-15 vs Vucevic 17-13
    17-14 vs Kings
    10-13 vs Kings
    24-16 vs Robin Lopez 8-3
    19-18 vs Horford 15-10
    14-13 vs Pekovic 18-10
    19-10 vs Brook Lopez 15-8
    15-19 vs Okafor 6-8
    14-12 vs Hibbert 10-7
    14-15 vs Cousins 19-8
    16-11 vs Valanciunas 8-10
    18-18 vs McGee 7-3

these numbers are insane, and he is scdoring very efficiently taking only what comes to him while shooting a good 70percent from the FT line, he is 25 and just hitting is prime and would be cheaper and younger than jefferson or pekovic, not to mention he is extremely athletic and can run the floor with rivers gordon and davis

Also the best part is, if we could get him for cheap it would give us money to actually have a good bench! which is very important, we could sign guys like budinger, corey brewer and so on.

he makes up for his 6"9 height with his length and huge vertical, could u imagine him and AD running the floor, other teams wouldnt be able to keep up, big slow centers are dying off, the league is becoming about speed. the heat have frickin joel anthony at center, i dont see dwight and people dropping 50 on him every night.

Been high on him all season. Guy is a player, and he's one of the best rebounders in the league.

Ya i agree, he isnt putting those #'s up against scrubs, some of his best games have been against dwight, noah, tyson, gasol, monroe, cousins, pekovic

he's young, about to hit his prime and will only get better, and he is getting those rebounds next to LA, so his #'s arent inflated, hes that good.

How much has he given up defensively though? That's the question with a 6'9 center.

I put the #'s of the guy he matched up against that game, he pretty much dominated about 90% of them, so far he is having a better year than people like monroe, marc gasol, and hibbert, I really hope we can land him. His numbers are insane

Sign Jeff Teague, was gonna say tyreke evans but signing Teague for cheaper gives us more money to also sign budinger, plus teague is a better fit next to gordon because of his great 3point shooting
    Sign jj hickson
    Sign chase budinger
    Draft shabazz or otto porter

    Teague/rivers
    gordon/rivers/mason
    Shabazz or Otto/budinger
    Davis/ryno
    Hickson/smith

Trade GV and lopez for whoever
I absolutely love this team, Teague gordon hickson davis shabazz and rivers all in their primes together in 4 years, watchout
Teague is averaging 14 points 7 assists 2.5 rebs while shooting 37% from 3 and 88% from the free throw
Teague has been ballin, he dropped 27-11 on Brandon Jennings last night who had 21-5 Teague had more points and assists and also did it more efficiently too and he could be had for cheaper than jennings.

Unfortunately I think they match any offer on Teague, but I would love that team.

Guys like him are why I wouldn't dismiss Anthony Bennett. People might get scared off because of Derrick Williams or Thomas Robinson, but Bennett is a super strong athletic banger. And so is Hickson.

Same reason we got ryno for ayon, plus if teague tells them look i wanna play for New Orleans so either sign and trade me or ill just sign with them. The hornets future is much brighter than the hawks... Well the pelicans...

Because Teague is RFA and they just lost their franchise player and didn't want to add his salary after inexplicably signing Jameer Nelson to a terrible deal?

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

He isn't. Anderson was. The anderson sign and trade had many different variables than the S&T you are describing with Teague. That's what I got out of it, at least. Correct me if I'm wrong BSH.

Ok well if we didn't bring Lopez back for 4 million a year could we afford Brandon Jennings and JJ Hickson?

  22. #22

Re: JJ Hickson as of late

Why has Robinson been so bad? Was it just because the Kings organisation or is he a considered a bust already? I remember he said that he should go #1 in the draft cos he is better that AD...LOL

Ok doing some research, if we dont bring back Lopez, Lance, Roberts, Aminu, Xavier we will save 7 million giving and only have 34.5 million commited in Gordon, Davis, Rivers, Ryno, jason smith, Greivis and have 30 million to spend

With 30 million to spend minus whatever we have to spend on our draft pick would anyone be against signing jennings for 12 million, hickson for 10 million, budinger for 5 million and brandon rush for 3 million.

Before we even debate, if you think the hornets are this active in free agency prepare to be disappointed. There are 29 other teams looking to improve as well. YOu don't get top commodity's as a small market unless you draft or overpay them.
