The only reason there would be for limiting Davis' minutes at the end of games is a motivational tactic. We are not in a position to go to the playoffs, so wins are not the goal. He may be psychologically forcing Davis to remain humble and hungry by not allowing him to play at the end of games. In addition, the physical deficiencies will take time to develop. He also must trust that Davis does not fear crunch time. If he did, Davis would probably see more minutes at the end. Late game situations are based more on a players mental resolve rather than a coaches ability to draw up plays.
