^^ I've already said here before that I doubt any other coach in this league would play Davis as sporadically as Monty plays him.

Monty said Davis didn't play because he wouldn't match him up against Dwight.

But Davis was never matched up against him when he actually did play. Put him in at the 4 and let him rotate on defense- just like he was doing the first three quarters. Why change your game plan that was actually working????

I remember one time Davis looked like he tried to take a charge on Dwight and Dwight knocked him, he fell, there was no call, Dwight made the basket and that's when I guess Monty felt the kid didn't need to play.

Great post Hunny. This may be true, however i think Monty should not lose his job just yet. This lost sucks!! But lets not forget what makes Monty a respected coach.

You guys act like they are great coaches left hanging around that can make us a better team. They aren't. What..... Avery Johnson?? Foh

What is it exactly tho? That he gets them to play hard? Defense?

Can't say defense anymore cuz thats regressed in the last 2 yrs. Ok so he gets them to play hard every game....but at some point you have to show improvement on your actual coaching ability when it comes to X & O's.

And lets not act like this is just 1 or 2 games....this losing leads in the 2nd half and lack of awareness has been a problem for him as a coach since he's been here. Its just more evident now because now the team is stable and has a future....before it was acceptable for him to just "get them to play their hearts out" because we didn't know if the team would even be here. Now that you have stability and a core group of guys you need to see improvement in all facets....getting them to play hard should not be your calling card any more. Getting your team to execute and putting them in the right position to win, especially at the end of games should be the focus. He has yet to do that on a consistant basis to say that this team has actually improved.

I think we won 48 games that year .. None of those wins had anything to do with Monty . Paul & West carried that team

West missed the last 12 games and we won our first round series and had a really good shot at beating the Lakers that year. But hey, you are clearly going to discredit anything Monty has done so I have nothing more to say regarding it. Especially after you threw Ariza, Okafor, and Jack out there as if they are perennial All-Stars. Thanks for the entertainment.

this loss felt like the Saints blowing a 4 TD lead to the Falcons in the Dome... I would stay alone in my bedroom in the dark for a solid week... this loss was very bad for my (and from what I'm reading... a lot of people here) psyche.

You have no clue what you're talking about. West played most of the season, Okafor and Ariza were elite team defenders, CP3 is a top 5 player in this league and the western conference was weak that season. They won 46 games which was barely above most people's projection of 45. He probably cost them a few more wins by not making Thornton the full time 6th man and only playing Aaron Gray half the season even though he's much better than Mbenga. Come with some facts next time so you don't look so clueless.

Basically ..Keeping Thornton & playing Gray more would have probably added 5 more wins that season

We didn't win our first round series. We were only the 7th seed and lost to the Lakers in the first round.

3p% = 22%
FT% = 64%
AST = Decline (because he doesn't pass)
AST% = Decline 6% (because he doesn't pass)
TS% = 34.5%

Those stats are more important than usage rating and TO because he can't turn it over when he plays hero ball. I thought that was obvious.

Lakers have been called old and slow all season long by pundits. We got...9 fast break points in a game where we crushed them on the boards. Gotta do better than that. We need quicker, better ball handlers handling the rock more.
