^^ I've already said here before that I doubt any other coach in this league would play Davis as sporadically as Monty plays him.

But Davis was never matched up against him when he actually did play. Put him in at the 4 and let him rotate on defense- just like he was doing the first three quarters. Why change your game plan that was actually working????
I remember one time Davis looked like he tried to take a charge on Dwight and Dwight knocked him, he fell, there was no call, Dwight made the basket and that's when I guess Monty felt the kid didn't need to play.

You guys act like they are great coaches left hanging around that can make us a better team. They aren't. What..... Avery Johnson?? Foh

What is it exactly tho? That he gets them to play hard? Defense?

Can't say defense anymore cuz thats regressed in the last 2 yrs. Ok so he gets them to play hard every game....but at some point you have to show improvement on your actual coaching ability when it comes to X & O's.

And lets not act like this is just 1 or 2 games....this losing leads in the 2nd half and lack of awareness has been a problem for him as a coach since he's been here. Its just more evident now because now the team is stable and has a future....before it was acceptable for him to just "get them to play their hearts out" because we didn't know if the team would even be here. Now that you have stability and a core group of guys you need to see improvement in all facets....getting them to play hard should not be your calling card any more. Getting your team to execute and putting them in the right position to win, especially at the end of games should be the focus. He has yet to do that on a consistant basis to say that this team has actually improved.

I never said the stats were stupid learn to read. I said that the idea that the numbers he puts up outside of crunch time are somehow meaningless is stupid.

West missed the last 12 games and we won our first round series and had a really good shot at beating the Lakers that year. But hey, you are clearly going to discredit anything Monty has done so I have nothing more to say regarding it. Especially after you threw Ariza, Okafor, and Jack out there as if they are perennial All-Stars. Thanks for the entertainment.

He's already an icon. Whether you believe that or not, here's an example:

I have a friend who does not follow sports AT ALL. And the other day, knowing I'm a huge fan, he tells me "Hey I didn't know unibrow guy played for the Hornets! That's crazy man. That guy is good."

AD is a pretty big deal.
Dude is a beast ALREADY!!! Wait til he has an off season to develop and put on weight. This guy is a double double machine and a defensive machine. Love him. He is our star!!!!

Inn crunch time Vasquez's plays drops off a cliff.
Turnovers go down, def. and usage rating get better as well.

I guess stats only depend on when you want to use them in your battle.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Fast forward 20 minutes and you witness what cost Monty his job.

Putting Davis in with 25 seconds to go.

No what it means is that REGARDLESS of the points and assists he has in the game when the game is on the line. He Fs up more times than not when it matters most. Get it? Did u create an account to just come in here to sing praises of concrete shoes??

He probably cost them a few more wins by not making Thornton the full time 6th man and only playing Aaron Gray half the season even though he's much better than Mbenga. Come with some facts next time so you don't look so clueless.
Basically ..Keeping Thornton & playing Gray more would have probably added 5 more wins that season
Dell Demps PLEASE get us some scorers!

Jesus. His defensive rating jumpers to 120. How can you even begin to defend that?

That's the definition of a defensive liability.

Glad I didn't get to watch that collapse.

We didn't win our first round series. We were only the 7th seed and lost to the Lakers in the first round.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

Can't turn it over when you don't pass. Usage rate goes up, when you don't pass.

    What goes down:

    FG% = 28%
    3p% = 22%
    FT% = 64%
AST = Decline (because he doesn't pass)
    AST% = Decline 6% (because he doesn't pass)
    TS% = 34.5%

Those stats are more important than usage rating and TO because he can't turn it over when he plays hero ball. I thought that was obvious.

Would it be better if he ****s up earlier in the game and then plays better late because I fail to see the point. 2 points is 2 points no matter when you score them

I am looking at the data presented. Red means bad, green means good. Those 3 stats get better for him in the crunch. No need to fight the truth.

Lakers have been called old and slow all season long by pundits. We got...9 fast break points in a game where we crushed them on the boards. Gotta do better than that. We need quicker, better ball handlers handling the rock more.

  22. #747
Its just funny how people are now reaching for an objective stat like clutchness to somehow prove GV isnt good

So sometimes his def. isn't a liability, but we will never hear you say that, but what he excells at (outside of the crunch) is what you will get down on him for?

    Ok, cool story.

Well lets see if he ****s up in the first at least we have 3 quarters to make up for. He ****s up on the last possession of the game, how do you recover... that's as simple as it gets, but I doubt you understand.
