I don't know what in the world you've seen to give you that opinion. He's improved, yes but that's quite a statement.

As for your other comment, I agree with Inner GI. I'm in the school of thought that you draft the BPA in the NBA regardless of position and figure it out later. Rivers is certainly not anything worth banking on hard enough to pass on a guy that I have very high in Burke. In your train of thought, do you pass on Smart and McLemore because we have Gordon on contract?

Now if we get Oladipo/Porter/McLemore I will certainly not be crying.
    Wherehappens.

Yep, July he's good to be traded to anyone without any say in it.

Porter has also shown an NBA level of cageyness. When he drove for that slick reverse layup, midway through he pass faked to the corner which completely froze the defender who might've come helped cut him off. That's a point guard move. That's something Rondo or CP3 would do in the middle of a drive.

I enjoyed the play where he came out of nowhere and dunked off that rebound. Nobody was boxing out, or following the ball and he just flew right in.

He has good instincts, and his comparisons to Aminu couldn't be more wrong.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

If I would have told you in 2010 that Jason Smith could one day be an outstanding sixth man, you'd probably call me silly. Rivers is an incredibly hard worker and has all the talent to be a game changer. A starter. And by franchise player, I mean a part of a big 3 of some sort composed of him, Davis, and ..?

I agree. Idk why fools *yes fools* jump to conclusion for any player from the rookie season. Does Billups, Ellis, and Crawford ring a bell? Just let this kid grow and stop judging so quickly.

No one is jumping to conclusions. None of those players listed are Franchise changers.

Austin Rivers has real potential as a 6th or 7th man off the bench. He may start for some teams down to road like most backups do (i.e vasquez), but I don't see him, Davis, and someone else being a big 3 on the Boston level. Davis is the only player on this roster that could be considered a franchise piece.

    Agree to disagree.

Any ways, I want Oladipo or Porter. I don't have a close third.

For those of you curious about Shabazz's game, this vid is a great watch. It shows a lot of the good, but along with some of the bad in his game (stiffness, lack of overall athletic high flying abilty):

He does have some guts, doesn't mind taking the big shot (as is seen at the end of the vid).

re: InnerGI (whom I normally agree with BTW)

I disagree- to an extent. These guys are so young they can grow almost exponentially. He has looked like a disaster at times, but also a lot of improvement. I know others feel the same that he can get better because he has shown it. He also (from the common perspective) has a drive like nobody else. Let's look at it this way- His defense. Still far from elite, but he was supposed to be weak at defense. Look how incredibly far that has come. I think his offense can make similar jumps in the next 2-3 years. He's also a much better passer than any of us gave him credit for. He has instinct. I think he is still timid, but I see the potential. He definitely has vision- how much, I'm not sure, but he has something that I didn't think he had as far as that aspect. Now, will any of this potential pan out and how much? Nobody knows. But I have confidence. I think he at least has the potential to be a top 7 or better PG. I know that sounds crazy, but I see that type of potential. Rose-colored glasses perhaps. It's going to take time and he may never reach that. But if he were a stock, he'd be a great buy right now in my opinion. I wouldn't pass over the PG's in the draft if I really bought into them, but I think he has that potential. We're going to need a good three guard rotation anyway.

Maybe. I like Smart, haven't seem enough of him yet, unfortunately.

If we took Shabazz, would you play him at the 2 or 3?

We would play him at the 3 unless we traded gordon for a SF

  19. #444
If we traded gordon for derozan and big v we could put shabazz at the 2 and derozan at the 3

  20. #445

Why would Portland do that? I would trade Gordon and Lopez yesterday for Batum, much less Leonard. That just doesn't make any sense.

Batum is just a shooter and defender, he can't create for himself, lillard and gordon would be deadly, I wouldn't trade gordon for Batum straight up, gordon is better

Lillard gordon and Aldridge would be insane
