2 guard from Michigan St.

Bazz is still favorited as a better offensive player but Porter fits this team's style as well as need. Bazz is a little undersized for the 3 and Porter moves more without the ball opposed to needing it in his hand while defending and doing all the little things. Bazz can be a 20 point guy but Porter can be your 15, 7 & 5 guy while not only being more efficient, but still makes you guard him on all parts of the floor unlike Aminu outside
Porter is my #1 guy.
I like Marcus Smart but I don't think we'll be in position to draft him.
Never thought of using Rivers as an example of Monty's defensive teaching ability. It most certainly make sense seeing he wasn't a huge defender at Duke. By this logic, it would seem to be better for Demps to draft more offensively able players and have Monty tap into their defensive potential. So Shabazz wouldn't be a terrible pick under this assumption.
Jrue dat
I love oladipo I just don't see where he fits on the roster with GV gordon and rivers, I don't think he could play small forward
I mean he could play small forward but iggy was considered small at SF at 6"6 so is shabazz oladipo is listed t 6"5 and is prob really 6"4 and Monty said he wants length, I'd be fine with oladipo at the 2 if we could get a small forward like Wilson chandler Budinger or parsons who can shoot
1. McLemore - can guard 1,2&3's
2. Smart - can play 1&2
3. Porter- a major need at the 3
Beyond these 3 nothing fires me. March madness could change my opinion a little. Bazz gives me a bad feeling cause of his me first mentality.
We would be picking 5th so the person I really want is porter, he is an elite TWO way player, can shutdown anyone and take over a game offensively if need be, is clutch and doesn't need the ball to be good. The only team I'm worried about taking him before us is the kings.
I still have faith in gordon, him and ad looked to have great chemistry and I also think rivers will be a fine pg, but hopefully the draft would play out like this so we could get porter, anyone think one of these teams would take him before us?
Bobcats - Ben McLemore - don't need a SF but need another scorer
Magic - Marcus smart - have vucevic and harmless, will need a young pg or SG
Washington - cody zeller or Noel - have wall and beal to score, don't see nene or Okafor as their long term fix
Cleveland - zeller or Noel have kyrie and waiters, need a center but could go porter for SF
Hornets - Otto porter - our SF problem is fixed and we land an offensive and defensive threat
Suns - shabazz muhamad - need a scoring SF and SG
Kings - Anthony Bennett if they think he can play SF
I would actually look to make a play for Moe Harkles if Orlando took Smart.
I like harmless a lot very smooth game w tons of potential but rather porter, but harmless is a SF so idk what smart has to do with it
Why would Smart make Harkless expendable?
And good mock HG. Cleveland has me worried as well in regards to them possibly snagging Porter. Hopefully they keep winning so that we won't have to worry about them.
IMO, Porter is the perfect piece to add to our young core. Especially if we move forward with EJ. I would be over the moon if we somehow managed to land him.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
Agreed, I'm worried about the cavs or kings taking him, and thanks, also im still convinced gordon could play the combo point guard position since he is better w the ball in his hands and even his college coach said pg was his best position and draft McLemore smart shabazz or oladipo then in 2 years trade either rivers gordon or McLemore for a veteran when we are contenders
I'm not sure how McLemore would fit on the team with the personnel we have, but I don't doubt that we would take him if we landed the top pick again.
You have to go BPA at that point, and he has the most upside out of all the draft prospects by far.
Here's the thing about Monty though... He doesn't need a traditional SF because of the way he runs his defense. He doubles a lot, and he switches all the time. So, let's say we draft an undersized guy like McLemore or Shabazz or Oladipo, and we play him at SF, and they have to guard LeBron or Melo. They can handle them on the wing, but if they get posted up, we just double down and rotate to the open shooter. I think it could work with a smaller, more skilled SF because of Monty's system. So since our team defense nullifies the opposing SF size advantage defensively for them, our guy is quicker and more skilled on the offensive end, so he should be able to take advantage of his counterpoint in that regard. That is a big + for us. The obvious minus to the scenario is rebounding, but if we can bring in another rebounding monster next to Davis (Pekovic or Hickson or someone like that), we should be fine theoretically.
Something to think about considering the system that Monty runs... It makes the BPA model work, assuming Porter is off the board already.
