Porter, McLemore, Burke. Lots of likes in this draft. If we finish as we have been doing so far or even if we win a lil' more. Gonna come out with a solid player.

I almost want to win a few more games so Porter and Shabazz are off the board and Burke is sitting there for us. lol

Oooh! I could be on board for some of that fun all over the court at high speeds action.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

So sweet to a point where if they all panned out, we couldn't nearly afford all 5 of them. We'd be lucky to afford 3 of them.

I feel like drafting a rookie, is taking steps back, unless they can provide a Lillard type impact in their rookie year. Rebuilding effort or not, someone is gonna lose their job over this if we keep taking 19 year olds that need to develop.

Well I'd assume Burke would probably at the very least split minutes under Vasquez for his rookie year.
    Wherehappens.

While I love Burke, doesn't this hurt the Austin Rivers project? And if they'd be moving Rivers to the 2, wouldn't a backcourt of Rivers and Burke be incredibly tiny?

If the rookies come in and give a Darren Collison impact their rookie year, that would be a great pick. DC did a solid job, all due to having more than one year in college basketball. Seeing as how Porter, Burk, Smart, and Oladipo all have been in the college game for 2+ years, they should drop from their college production, but not enough to be detriment to the team.

I'm not a fan of passing up a player because he may hurt a fringe NBA starter. I've seen Austin Rivers flashes, but they don't scream starter to me. More like 6th or 7th man off the bench type production.

And this is where I disagree. I think Rivers can be a franchise player and game changer

Okay. I'll just agree to disagree now, because I'm seriously shocked franchise player and game changer were used to describe Rivers.

Potentially of course. To each his own, I guess.

We have greivis and austin at point but we are stuck with no one at small forward, Aminu is a free agent, right now our small forward is Darius miller, if Otto porter is on the board he will undoubtedly be our pick, we aren't drafting a pg, sorry guys, this is coming from a Burke fan, now if we packaged greivis and Xavier for Wilson chandler then I could see us drafting someone like Marcus smart incase gordon gets traded since we have no SG depth

I am taking Burke over Smart. Put me in the minority here but I rather have CP3 than DWill.

TRADE RIVERS OR GORDON AND SAY HELLO TO THE FUTURE
    Victor Oladipo
    Surreal shooting %
    http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...victor-oladipo

Strengths: Oladipo is an explosive athlete with great leaping ability … Has nice size at about 6’5, 215 lbs, and great length and a good build ... Fantastic first step and moves well laterally … A very tough and gritty player who fights for everything … Excellent rebounder for a guard averaging over 5 per game last season … Absolutely relentless on defense and is versatile enough to guard multiple positions … Not one to be outworked on either end of the court … One of the best finishers in the country around the rim due to his athleticism and body control … Moves well without the ball and doesn’t need to have plays drawn up for him to be effective … Hard worker off the court and improved his free throw percentage by 14% this past season ...

I foam at the mouth at the prospect of having a Rivers, Gordon, Porter, Anderson, and Davis nucleus to build around.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

Can we even trade Gordon to PHX? I've heard conflicting things about what is legal when trading EJ now.

Gordon can be traded to anyone after the 1 year mark of signing his new deal. During the first year of the deal he had veto power on any trade, and couldn't be traded to PHX.

Next season, he can be traded anywhere without worry.

Ok because early on I was hearing he couldn't be traded to PHX for the life of that deal we matched. The NBA and all it's unnecessary rules and guidelines.

  23. #423
I wouldnt count Gordon or Vasquez as part of the nucleus, but I am glad that they are here in the meantime.

Yeah misinformation was certainly going around.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Yea, I was probably the main spreader of that information.

42 posted something with links to sources that confirms Gordon is eligible to be traded to any team, without veto, after the 1st year of the deal.
