I seriously wonder whether the officials are bribed or just flat out blind. Wouldnt be surprised.

Was that the shot that was called a jumpball? I don't even remember. That monster Aminu block was called for a foul and that pissed off EVERYONE in the arena tonight.

Just did a little research and it appears I'm right. You can clearly read 4:35 on the clock and according to the play by play Brook Lopez blocked a Eric Gordon layup at 4:33 in the first quarter.

I don't think so. I think Aminu and Wallace jump balled.

Gordon should have lived at the FT line tonight, but refs were poo.

1 thing is certain Vasquez and Lopez will be traded some time in the off season so let's hope they play well to raise their trade value. Can't wait for next year and our top 5 pick. C ya gravy!!!! Unless of course he's willing to play pg on the 2nd unit but pretty sure he's trade bait cuz whatever we get for him we will be getting for pondexter which will be great on demps part. Vasquez is so dam slow it's annoying.

So what does that make us 0-12 in games decided by 5pts or less?

They'll probably be worse tomorrow. If that's even possible. The fans were voicing a lot of displeasure about them tonight.

I felt like they were getting booed all game, and deservedly so, but the NBA has to do something about these officials. The NBA has the worst officiating in professional sports, and it's just not acceptable anymore.

And while it seems like it has been really bad against our 'young team' this season, and it has, it's not just us. The other night against the Kings, 2 Hornets were all on top of a Kings head and back causing him to lose the ball out of bounds. It was my team and while I hate to say/see it, a foul should've been called on at least one of the Hornets that were on top of the guys head. No call was made though. I think they just went ahead and gave the Kings the ball back.

ETA: I just saw it was the beginning of the 4th quarter. Jason Thompson was getting ready to go up for a shot and both Smith and Aminu were both in the air to contest and landed all over Thompson. No call. The ball went out off of Thompson, but they said it went off the Hornets. The Kings got the ball back, Salmons hit a 3.

If the refs werent terrible gordon would have had 12 more points easily at the FT line, glad he was attacking.

I know that upgrading the SF position is the trending topic but after watching this game if you do not think that PG is the most important upgrade this off-season, I don't know what to tell you. Our PG takes too many shots, has no court vision, doesn't run the break well, and cannot defend anyone well. I think it was NOLASlim that said his stats are empty and that might be the best statement that I've read on here. His assists are all the obvious ones and he misses the assists that every good PG makes. Upgrade the PG position and it'll cover some of the defecencies the team has in other positions.

I said during the game he may be our best perimeter defender right now, of the guards anyway.

People wonder why our defense is so bad, it's because Vasquez couldn't stay in front of my grandma, Gordon hasn't played like the elite defender we thought we had (he's been bad as well), Aminu has all the tools but is prone to mistakes and his on ball defense is kind of overrated on the board, Davis also is prone to mistakes and while he too has all the tools his lack of strength is a big problem down low, Lopez is the only good defender we have.

Check this out. Not pertaining to this game but does anyone know how bad Portland's commentators are? NBA.com's John Schuhmann has an article called Air Check:Showing Their True Colors. I've always known that Portland, Boston, and San Antonio have some of the worst, most biased commentators but take a listen to this...

    http://www.nba.com/video/channels/nb...grant-foul.nba

There are a lot of times when broadcasters need to hold their tongues until they see a replay before questioning an official’s call. Let’s just say that Mike Barrett and Mike Rice don’t do that very often.

On this play, Barrett (play-by-play) first questions the idea of Nicolas Batum‘s foul being a flagrant. Rice takes over from there, seems to ignore an obvious blow to the face of Anthony Davis, makes a silly remark about the official not wanting him to eat dinner on time, and then takes a grade-school-level shot at Davis’ eyebrow(s). Oh yeah, like Hastings in the clip above, he infers that a previous call should somehow influence this one.

One more thing: Broadcasters should know that referees will err on the side of caution when initially determining whether a foul was a flagrant or a common foul, because one can be reviewed and the other can’t. If the refs initially call a flagrant, they can review the play and change it to a common foul. If they don’t call a flagrant initially, they can’t review it or change it. So if there’s any doubt, the best thing to do is call a flagrant foul and check the replay.

I can only wonder what they were saying when Portland was getting blown out in NOLA right before the All-Star break.

I would put the nba and nfl both ahead of any league of soccer, I don't watch the mls but bad and inconsistent officiating in those two leagues impacts the game much more than in any soccer league I watch (EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga, and Serie A)
    never assume

Haha, I just came on the thread and was gonna post about the seemingly poor officiating last night. Obviously wasn't seemingly. I was at the game so just wanted to make sure I was seeing it right.

Gordon really doesn't get any calls at all. He misses alot of those floaters, but I saw a couple times when he got bumped from behind on them and no call.

The officiating really was laughable last night.
