He's still not the sole reason we lost this game though.

Right. It was terrible from jumpball. I said it earlier that we were playing soft. Nobody seemed to have any lift on the layups. They were playing scared and the refs contributed to that because we looked like we were scared to move early in the game.

Gordon shot 70% at the rim last season.

    55% this season.

66% his last season in LA.

won the 2nd half by 12... problem is the team lost the 1st half by 16

I never said he was the sole reason, but a big contributor because as a PG you handle the ball alot and control the flow.

Yeah, a big contributor because he didn't rebound enough, didn't steal the ball enough, didn't protect the rim enough. When his man gets by him where were our bigs? I remember when CP3 used to always get by Deron Williams. It didn't matter though because there was always a big (Kirlilenko, Harpring, etc.) right there to stop CP3 in his tracks. We know Greivis is slow and not a good defender but other things contribute to losses too. They certainly did tonight.

They MADE almost as many 3's as we ATTEMPTED tonight.

The rebounding was almost even but they won the rebound edge by 3.

Nobody had more rebounds than Greivis. Where are our rebounders?

So anxious for next season. So curious to see who we sign and draft.

The love for Greivis on this board has reached dangerously terrible heights. Dude just really isn't that good and for once I agree with MM, he puts up great stats on a bad team.

Also, why in the world was Roger Mason in the game almost the entire 4th quarter? We take out the guy who just hit a big three and is playing legitimate defense (Rivers) and leave Mason in the game so he can make Keith Bogans look All-NBA. Dude double-teamed THREE times to the ball and left Keith Bogans wide open. Worse yet, he actually allowed the ball to get passed to Bogans, worse yet, Bogans was RIGHT THERE! Not double, pass, pass, pass, three San Antonio style. How bout a double, pass, three, Roger Mason D-style. Monty's inconsistency regarding who plays and who doesn't based on their defense drives me mad. Roger Mason Jr. actually earned the -8 in the plus/minus tonight, if not more.

It really is simple and here we go throwing me into the flames again for my suggestions, but Eric Gordon needs to touch the ball like James Harden touches the ball in Houston. EG10 is just simply a better basketball player that is somehow playing 2nd fiddle to an average basketball player. There's no consistency in his usage and I think that is a HUGE reason for his struggles.

    Yeah yeah.
    "EG10 sux"
"Pay Vasquez whatever he wants now"

Bottom line, EG10 and GV can't co-exist on a decent team. Again, my opinion that's worth nothing on this site but I'll say it anyways. I'd much rather roll the dice on talent than be forced to watch the General run an offense for the next 4 years and dominate the ball because he's a "high character" guy.

Vazquez is fine in most games (if hes efficient). He tends to screw us royally in certain games though. I do like how he and gordon are sharing duties more though.

Due to a combination of rule changes, freak athletic guards, and the prevalence of stretch bigs, it is very important that your bigs are long and quick on their feet in order to contest shots at the rim. Any good screening team will prevent a guard from being able to consistently stick with his man unless he is an elite athlete like Westbrook.

They were caught out of position trying to rotate to his man causing WIDE open shots at the 3pt line.

While true, he is still a liability on defense. I wish Vazquez was the answer i really do. He isnt dominant enough on offense to make up for his shortcomings. He has some stellar games- and then you get game losers like that travesty of a shot (Dallas if i remember correctly). Drives me nuts

Yeah, I'm not trying to say he is a defensive stalwart or is even average at that end of the ball. I feel he makes up for that with a superior offensive game. He takes fewer bad shots than most guards and needs to be guarded anywhere on the court.

E: I quoted the wrong post, but point still stands.

I'll bet you're right. He was called for 1 foul all night. I've seen pictures where I'm sure he should've been called for at least 3.
