Completely diff players. Only similarity is their great rebounding and sweet jumper. George is an athletic freak who scores at the rim or from 3. Porter is a lockdown defender, great rebounder and can score from anywhere on the floor. Porter will be awesome, even though he is a sophmore he is very young only like 3 or 4 months older than people freshmen class.

At the moment we are tied for 7th worse, but only 2 games away from being 3rd worse. There are 3-4 teams that I really do think finish better than us in Washington,Cleveland,Minny and possibly Sacramento and Phoenix. Putting as at 3rd or 4th worse. Check out our remaining schedule it's pretty rough and I don't see us winning more than 7-8 more games max. Just my opinion tho.
I could see it finishing the other way. We win too many games and end up picking in the 9-11 range.

I think my board is pretty much

    Oladipo
    Porter
    Burke

But as nola pointed out earlier, there really are 10 guys that I wouldn't be MAD that we drafted, you know? Gonna be a great draft for us.
    Wherehappens.

    Really agree

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

There are some similarities, but it's the similarities you would want Porter to have. Porter is long, plays good defense, rebounds well, blocks shots, and forces turnovers. The difference between the two is that Porter can shoot, and he has a much higher BBall IQ. Porter has always had a great mid-range jumper, but this year he's been able to add the 3-ball to his game, averaging to take over 3 a game and hitting 45% of them. He's a player without many holes in his game. He's not going to be an elite SF, but I expect him to be a top 10-15 starting SF in the NBA.

Porter is also not even close to the athlete.

I think the most apt comparison is Danny Granger without the health concerns.

Without the health concerns, but also without the well rounded offensive game.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

here is what I think about this years draft.....there isn't the overwhelming agreement about the first pick as there was last year, but I truly believe this crop of kids is deeper through about 12 or 15 players anyway....they are not being ignored, but I think Bennett and McCollum are a couple of really good "sleepers" that someone will be thrilled to land....

It's better than the Tayshaun Prince comparison I've seen.

Assuming we keep Gordon and he become healthy, Rivers becomes a viable starter, a highly physical center is found, and Davis develops to the all pro we expect of him, then I think Porter will be just what we need. Lots of ifs tho lol.

I've decided that if Eric Gordon is a Pelican next season, then Otto Porter is the guy for us.

    If not, I'd like Shabazz.

I wouldn't mind drafting Cody zeller or Alex Len either.cody is so athletic and can run the floor at 6 11.Len on the other hand just doesn't get the ball enough over at Maryland because of the horrible guard play but when he does get the ball he scores efficiently. Len or zeller would be a major upgrade over Lopez. I wish we could have 2 top 10 picks again this year. Lol...a draft of smart and Len or zeller would be a dream come truce to go along with our cap room to bring in a nice sf to replace aminu.

I really can't rest any of my hopes on gordon and I hope the hornets feel the same way when they're drafting.

There are only 3 players in this draft, I'd consider for the Hornets. Burke, Zeller, and Porter. I'm almost inclined to not include porter, because I haven't seen much of his game, but I hear good things.

If Porter is Aminu with a jumpshot and not the athleticism, I'm not sure he's that much of an upgrade honestly. Aminu has been pretty efficient. I'd rather a pure shooter to pair with Aminu... maybe...

Disagree. I think you have to plan on either trading him or him not playing 30 percent of the season if you don't. My point being, if Shabazz and porter are there and you have Shabazz ranked higher ,but feel he's more of a 2; I still feel like you take him.

i think oladipo is the only player you have to weigh against keeping gordon cause at the end of the day, i see bazz and mclemore going before we pick

Agree'd. And if you have Oladipo 1a and Poter 1b then you take Porter. i'm just saying if they have a guy ranked 2 and porter at 5 and we're #5, you take the #2 guy.
