I really feel like Burke could end up as the best player in this draft. The more and more I watch him the more the CP3 comparisons are starting to make sense.

Yeah, nobody is talking about him after college, but I see him and I think Kyle Singler who is doing very well with the Pistons. How big is he and how quick is he? Could he be another Peja?
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Lets hope we don't give him $64 mil.

I just hope that the Pelicans end up finishing in the top 5 or 6 which I think they will.

In no particular order I think picking any of these players will be an asset moving forward:

    McLemore
    Smart
    Muhammad
    Porter
    Oladipo
    Burke
    Robinson III
    Caldwell-Pope
    McCollum

I wouldn’t complain with Len, Zeller or Noel if the team decides they need a C in the draft.
However we need either a PG, SG or SF depending what happens in free agency and what the future of River’s, Gordon and Aminu entails.

IMHO if we miss out on Smart or Burke then we don’t draft a PG and persist with River’s which I think will be great in 2-3 years.
If we miss out on Porter or Robinson III then we don’t draft a SF and go with a guy like Budinger who can shoot and re-sign Aminu.
Both players have different strengths which complement one another.

This is why a SG will be the easiest player to draft if we don’t go the BPA scenario.
PF is clearly not a need at all with Davis and Anderson the future and IMO I think Lopez and Smith will suffice for next season.

I’m just keen to see this team with the same starting line-up for more than 25 games before we can say if they belong or they don’t.
By next season’s deadline I expect to see what will be the future and the end of the ‘re-build’.

I'm growing on the idea of drafting Otto Porter. He seems like he can be a fringe all star and do it all guy like Luol Deng. Only person in the draft I like more than him is Ben McLemore, and its looking like he will be off the board by us, barring a lucky lottery two years in a row.

McLemore, Olidapo, Porter, and possibly Burke.

Muhammad and Smart don't excite me; they both seem to play below the rim.

Why does playing below the rim even matter?

Because people love a high flying dunker. I'm guilty of it as well. But if guys like Porter or Smart were high flyers they'd be top draft picks for sure instead of questionable.

Not only that, but especially in Smart's case, finishing is an issue, even with his strength.

Shabazz is bigger and stronger so it's less of an issue, but if I'm drafting a pure scorer early in the draft, I want someone who can elevate.

Oh my lord we both get it. It's not even the CP3 comparisons to be, it's the damn production that you cannot avoid. The kid's a monster and will be a #1 PG somewhere.

I feel the same way but without the below the rim thing. I want those four, PERIOD.

Anyone watching this Louisville/Syracuse game? MCW basically lost the game for them in crunch time. DO NOT WANT.

Horrible hands as a PG in crunch time? Terrible shot selection with the game on the line? I'll take Vasquez, thanks.

    Just saw that as well.

What's Fair's story? Is he going to be something special?

He's staying as far as I know, could be totally wrong.

  23. #373
Is he anything more than a bench player in the league?

No one seems to know, maybe a good late 2nd round guy with potential but more of a camp guy who makes if it he tries hard you know? But that's all because they expect him to stay and be a big guy next year.

Why in the world leave if you're a late second guy?

McLemore is KILLING it today vs. WV. On both sides.
