That's the thing. Davis isn't a guy that just relies on his scoring. So if his shots not falling he's got other things he brings.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

You say Davis needs to get used to winning well then he shouldn't be out there in the 4th quarter at all because we lose 2/3 of our games.
Then by further extension of misapplying that logic, we shouldn't have drafted him. Can't lose on our team if he isn't on our team.
I also completely disagree when you say him being in the game, without him moving a muscle, would hinder kyrie from killing us. Yes Davis is great on D and shot blocking but that isn't gonna stop Kyrie from exploiting the hell out of Vasquez or our D in general, dribble penetration = us making bad rotations it happens all the time, maybe he alters a shot or two but then maybe he misses another jumper or two.
No, what it does it it forces either a tougher made shot, a pass, a miss, or a blocked shot. It's a helluva lot better chance for turning in our favor than having no one there to meet Irving at the bench because we're hiding Davis on the bench. Hell, you saw the game. You saw Davis go with a tough baseline floater that missed. It wasn't coincidence.

Saying he was 0-5 on a bunch of jumpers is not a defense of him, why are his only 5 attempts jumpers? and he got to the line 4 times but he didn't finish anything but one bucket in transition, and 1 tip in, not to mention only 4 rebounds to go along with 4 fouls, sounds like an off night to me.
Never said Davis wasn't having an off night. He was. But you don't bench future franchise players for off nights. Everyone else gets to play through them, but Davis? And Davis STILL brings more to the table than what stats can quantify properly.

the dude is fine, he doesn't need to be getting the minutes everyone keeps screaming for and giving those minutes to him won't necessarily help us win, especially tonight when we are losing in the 4th and need scoring and floor spacing,
So you play Robin Lopez? To space the floor?
on D the only problem was Irving and that happens because Irving is simply a great player, that and us "fouling" every possession. I am just ranting, but I am just gonna say that there is no 100% correct argument that Davis should be getting an average of say ~35mins a night, especially a night like tonight, when there plenty of reasons, that support us having a better chance to win, to give those minutes to others. I feel people call for Davis to get more minutes because he is the only one on our team who can do no wrong at the moment, everyone else is so highly scrutinized and futures are uncertain because of how bad we are
It isn't a matter of doing no wrong. It's a simple matter of playing your talent. I've already said we probably still lose if Davis gets more 4th quarter minutes. That isn't my problem. This arbitrary minutes thing is meaningless. It's a ballpark of what you'd aim for in a typical night, but it shouldn't be a golden rule.

A player whom is not bad by any means, he's actually pretty solid. He'll win the most improved player. He's a leader and maybe should be a backup but here's the reality: This is a guy who wants to be here and is committed for the long run. He gives it all on the court. And guess what? He wants to be here. He loves this team. Guess what else? He's sticking through an enormous rebuild and has done everything asked of him and has exceeded expectations. Oh and he's loyal and wants to be here.

    That man is Greivis Vasquez.

Yes, he was made out to be a fool by Kyrie tonight, but who hasn't Kyrie made out to be a fool lately? I'm not saying he's our long term starter, but we're not realizing what's in front of us.
I get what you are saying, but you are too emotionally invested in Vasquez. His passion is great, but the dude just doesn't have the talent. That's a fact.

He wants to be here? Sure. He's sticking through our rebuild? Lol, dude.... What choice does he have? He is under contract haha.

It's not just tonight man. Vasquez can't guard NBA PGs. That's just a fact. He also plays hero ball. That's a fact. He's too slow to run the break, he doesn't anticipate passes well, and he really doesn't run the PnR well. Davis should have like 3-4 lobs per game in the PnR, but they never come because Vasquez can't pass him open like Chris Paul or Rondo or Nash or other great passing PGs can. Vasquez is a passing PG, but he is limited in that category.

Again, you are just too emotionally invested, which is cool because you are a fan, but this team won't win a championship with him at the helm. No way no how.

Being able to draw fouls in 4th quarters helps teams come back and win. Shame he didn't play until like 2:30 left in the 4th.

Funny thing is, I'm not an enormous Greivis supporter.

If only every team had a Nash, Paul or Rondo......

And no. He doesn't have to stick through a rebuild. It's pretty common to ask to be traded in the middle of a rebuild.

I can't do this argument, because reality is, you think I'm emotionally invested, a huge supporter. And I'm not by any means. I'd never win because I'd be viewed as a typical supporter who sees past his flaws, but that's not me. I'll be the first to point out his mistakes.

He was 3-3 last night. I hope he keeps improving in that area. He was pretty good there in the beginning of the season and then he took a big dip.

Why are you responding to me here, when you just made a thread with the same exact post?

Saw your response on this thread before I saw it on the other. It's not really a big deal. I'm not 'trolling' if that's what you're implying. I wasn't going to write a response to your response on the other thread when I never saw your original post in the first place. It would have looked like I was talking to myself. I'm not that crazy.

It's not really important, but I could've sworn I saw Aminu with two steals. Boxscore only shows one.

We have a slew of home games coming up.

Between the rest of Feb and March, we have 5 away games and 14 home games.

Hornets guard Eric Gordon didn't play for precautionary reasons as he continues to recover from knee surgery. "I wish that (policy) was over, but we don't see it ending anytime soon," coach Williams said. "For whatever reason, the doctors feel that's best for Eric. But he's healthy, so it's tough."

He still doesn't 'look' all that healthy at times though. But hey, maybe that's part of the plan.

I'm already ready for tomorrow. Hopefully we can beat Dallas again.

In terms of just the way he runs and moves in general, he's always looked like his knee is about to fall off. He's really weird. Acts weird, looks weird, runs weird, shoots weird. But in terms of his explosiveness and athleticism, I would agree he doesn't look it. Maybe he's still regaining it, or maybe it's gone for good.

Right. Could be either one really. Maybe one day we'll know for sure, whether he's a Pelican or playing for another team. Maybe one day we'll know.
