Irving scored 20 pts in the last 6:43 of the game
I think he outscored the Hornets in the 4th
"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin
We're all tripping. Benson told Monty "nah look, you don't wanna try to win too many games cuz we want anotha one o those top draft picks ya hea?"

Terrible defense is not a stupid reason. I love his effort. I love his grit. I don't want him traded. I want him coming off the bench and not being hung out to dry trying to make Kyrie Irving work harder to score. No one can stop him. But we need more.
It's my madness mantra for this team. More.
I like a lot of things about this team, but we just need more. More Davis late. More Rivers making shots at the rim. More rebounding. More of our highest paid player actually playing.
If Greivis is the heart of the team, then its time for a heart transplant.
Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams
Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston
I think we lose the game even if Davis is playing, for the record. Irving was on fire. If he couldn't get to the rim, he'd just hit stepback jumpers. But if we gotta lose, I wanna see us go down swinging. Not with Achilles confined to his tent.
I think we all need to take our pills. We will get a good draft pick this year and hopefully the Gordon situation (should he stay or should he go) gets resolved. We have cap space and we're not afraid to use it!
I want him off the bench as well. But imagining this team without Greivis and/or Monty, is something I find mentally impossible.
Our starting bigs only played 45 combined minutes tonight.
We're taking advantage of something that has been a huge rarity for this team forever.
A player whom is not bad by any means, he's actually pretty solid. He'll win the most improved player. He's a leader and maybe should be a backup but here's the reality: This is a guy who wants to be here and is committed for the long run. He gives it all on the court. And guess what? He wants to be here. He loves this team. Guess what else? He's sticking through an enormous rebuild and has done everything asked of him and has exceeded expectations. Oh and he's loyal and wants to be here.
That man is Greivis Vasquez.
Yes, he was made out to be a fool by Kyrie tonight, but who hasn't Kyrie made out to be a fool lately? I'm not saying he's our long term starter, but we're not realizing what's in front of us.
I watched the game. If Robin doesn't foul out then Davis gets about his average minutes a game, which I for one am completely fine with because he is only 19 years old. You say Davis needs to get used to winning well then he shouldn't be out there in the 4th quarter at all because we lose 2/3 of our games. I also completely disagree when you say him being in the game, without him moving a muscle, would hinder kyrie from killing us. Yes Davis is great on D and shot blocking but that isn't gonna stop Kyrie from exploiting the hell out of Vasquez or our D in general, dribble penetration = us making bad rotations it happens all the time, maybe he alters a shot or two but then maybe he misses another jumper or two. Saying he was 0-5 on a bunch of jumpers is not a defense of him, why are his only 5 attempts jumpers? and he got to the line 4 times but he didn't finish anything but one bucket in transition, and 1 tip in, not to mention only 4 rebounds to go along with 4 fouls, sounds like an off night to me.
the dude is fine, he doesn't need to be getting the minutes everyone keeps screaming for and giving those minutes to him won't necessarily help us win, especially tonight when we are losing in the 4th and need scoring and floor spacing, on D the only problem was Irving and that happens because Irving is simply a great player, that and us "fouling" every possession. I am just ranting, but I am just gonna say that there is no 100% correct argument that Davis should be getting an average of say ~35mins a night, especially a night like tonight, when there plenty of reasons, that support us having a better chance to win, to give those minutes to others. I feel people call for Davis to get more minutes because he is the only one on our team who can do no wrong at the moment, everyone else is so highly scrutinized and futures are uncertain because of how bad we are
never assume
Vasquez simply shouldn't be put in a situation where he can get abused like that. Can't wait until we find that PG that can push him to his right spot on the bench.
Another thing, Davis may not have been shooting well but they were fouling him. He made ALL of his free throws tonight. He was at least able to get to the line and knock em down tonight.
