"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin

Yes, a high release is good, but I don't think a rainbow is a good trajectory. Release and the path the ball takes are two different things.

I agree. I dislike his trajectory. Annoying. Its like he's pushing the ball instead of shooting it.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

Some players line drive it like Kobe. Davis needs to get his shot arc down a little. He's 6'11" and he actually jumps instead of set shots, so no one is going to block his shot. He can afford to bring it down.

PLus his release is higher than the rim. I don't get why he arcs it higher than the backboard.

Maybe he still hasn't gotten quite used to taking jumpshots as a 6-10 guy. When he does hit them though, I'm rather impressed.

I don't think it'll hold him back any. Just that from a pure evaluation perspective, the high arcing shot ain't seen as a plus.

We had quite a few interesting conversations as we pondered and navigated the nightly canopy.

Hard to change a shot like that. Has to be comfortable.can certainly change trajectory though.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Aminu needs to calm down and let Davis grab some boards.

Nice finish, Rivers. He's gotten way better at that of late.

Why the hell didn't Lopez come out sooner is beyond me. Almost got a 5th foul.
