He also won a championship before said rough patches.

    Michele (Los Angeles)

Are the Hornets considering dealing Eric Gordon?
    Chad Ford (1:23 PM)

Yes. I mean, c'mon, they've got Austin Rivers waiting in the wings! But teams are wary because of his injury history. Teams like the Warriors have shown interest. The Pacers have shown lots of interest in the past. The question is whether their doctors can get comfortable enough with Gordon's medical issues to give up something of value and take on his huge contract.

We don't get a lot of New Orleans games in the Midwest. What's the Hornets' incentive to get rid of Gordon?
    Chad Ford (1:44 PM)

They overpaid this summer to keep him. There are concerns about his durability and he wasn't very happy when the Hornets matched the offer. If they could get a young (cheaper) quality two guard in return (Klay Thompson is the player most often mentioned) in return, they save money long-term and still get a two guard with a bright future to grow around Anthony Davis and whoever they select in this year's draft.

We better not take on Richard Nefferson's contract or I'll be pissed.

Not a big deal. You take his contract to even the money out in the trade and he's a UFA in the summer win win. especially since we're not a playoff team anyway.

If a Gordon and Thompson deal is made its going to be difficult to make that trade without having to take back Jefferson or Bierdrins contract back.

I posted this a week or so ago, but I really think it works for all parties involved.

Nah, he's only an UFA NEXT summer, which means we can't sign any FAs this off season.

thought he had a player option? maybe I have him confused with someone else, I don't know.

Why is everyone clamoring over klay thompson, he cant play defense hopefully he gets better. he cant create his own shot, he is not a playmaker. i get it he is young and cheap and can shoot but why go after another marco bellineli. Gordon is much better than Thompson only thing has over him is more games played this year. I think its a mistake to get rid of gordon just for Marco Bellineli 2.0 alone.

He does have a player option, which he will exercise unless he has a massive head injury or dies.

No you're right I missed that....there is however always a possibility to trade him to a contender that wants veteran depth.

Rich Jeff has a 12 (maybe 11) million player option which there is absolutely no chance he declines. Our flexibility for this summer would be almost gone. All that for just Klay? If there isn't some sweetners in there, no thanks.

Sam Amico posted on his twitter that if GS does a deal either Beidrins or Rich Jeff has to be included.

If we kept Gordon would we not be able to sign any FA's this offseason? I thought there was talk about us being able to sign a nice fa this offseason. Wouldn't Gordon make more than Jefferson next season?

Sure we can... we have We have Rashard Lewis' contract coming off the book after this season, and next season RJ's expiring contract could be a nice trading piece.

I dont think Dell would want to get rid of Biedrins contract that bad to have give up our 1st rd pick to do so, unless he has big plans in free agency this summer (which I dout) like trying to sign both CP3 and Dwight Howard.

  22. #272
When does Biedrins contract end ??
If we take a bad contract, we better get a pick too.

Btw, I'm sure Biedrins could teach a few things about the art of free throw shooting to Rivers =)

You are both right, but we wouldn't be able to offer the max. We are taking on salary if we do a Gordon for Klay, Barnes, and Jefferson deal.

Personally, I would not want just Thompson alone, but would want Barnes as well. I do not see the Warriors doing that though. Even then, Gordon is better than Thompson and Barnes based on talent. However, the constant injury situation is not getting any better. I think it is more of a situation whereby he cannot play through pain. I think a Thompson, Barnes and Biedrens for Gordon and Roberts is the best we can hope for and even that is a stretch. I just do not know how much of a market there is for a max contract injury prone SG.
