Thread: Eric Gordon unconcerned with approaching NBA trading deadline

Eric Gordon unconcerned with approaching NBA trading deadline

"I'm not really worried about it," Gordon said. "I've just got to go out and play my game and look forward to this week. Whatever happens, happens. It's happened to be before where I was traded. Business is business. I really don't worry about that. I'm just focused on this team.

"For any player that goes from team to team, whatever the situation is, it's all about playing basketball. And it's good to represent whatever organization you're in. I'm here. And I look forward to being here. That's that. Our team is building as one. And we'll see what goes on from here."

Good job Gordon, say something good and hope all of the horrible made up trade articles stop

He shouldn't even have to talk about it.

Of course he's unconcerned he has a final say on all trades. He's holding all the cards why should he be concerned?

Gordon said his sprained right hand, injured in a shoot-around collision with a teammate's elbow last Wednesday, was still sore, but he expected to play Tuesday night against the Chicago Bulls at New Orleans Arena.
    Oh THAT's what happened...

It isn't his concern to begin with. That implies a lack of control. He's secure for the foreseeable future.

If he was healthy, the trade rumors would stop. So, yes he shouldn't have to talk about it, but he's made of glass and making 58 million dollars.

He is healthy enough. People just like to magnify every little thing with this guy.

Who here thinks he's the only player on the team with a sore knee? Back? Hand?

I'm here. And I look forward to being here.
What else do you need the guy to say before people stop thinking he wants out and hates NOLA?

    Haters gonna hate.
I don't really think he wants out, but there is no ignoring
    his injury history though.

I give him till the deadline next season to see how I feel about him
    being a pelican.

There's a dedicated contingent that is going to think he wants out no matter what. He said his hear was in Phonix and made the sad face with Kaman and Aminu in that trade presser (even though all 3 were smiling before that pic was taken, truth has been buried and people still remember it.) And that's that.

The glass thing is being totally overblown, give it a rest. The injuries are unrelated and they're just being cautious on a non-playoff team.
    Wherehappens.

Veto power creates a lack of concern.

he misses more than his fair share because of the same injuries the other play through.

It isn't overblown. It's dominating the season for him. Still haven't seen healthy Gordon yet. Not like it's any fault of Gordon but it is what it is. We hold out hope that he just needs time. What'll be your response if he needs another round of surgery? Plenty examples of player careers derailed by incessant injuries. The concern is justified.

The guy played 9 game last year, and still isn't healthy? People, he is made of glass or simply can't take very much pain that elite athletes have been known to play through.

Jason Smith plays through a TORN labrum
Loul Deng has put off wrist surgery for 2 years because the Bulls go to the playoffs and he wanted to represent Great Britain in the Olympics. True elite athletes can play through pain.

It is not being overblown at all. Look at his career. He either cannot or choses not to play through pain and is constantly nursing injuries. Until he proves otherwise, I think the "made of glass" comments are warranted.

Fair enough, not worth arguing about.

I used to be one of the guy's to do whatever we need to do to keep Gordon here. I no longer feel that way. I'd advocate trading him for the right price now, or better yet in the summer when he cannot veto trades. I would love to see the guy get sent to Charlotte or Minnesota.

For the record I'm totally fine trading him, but I don't want to settle for the sake of moving him.

Even though my emotions may say otherwise I agree. Just throwing him away is a step back for this franchise. I don't see value out there in the league right now for teams willing to take Gordon.

I can say with 100% certainty, I do not want Eric Gordon wearing a Pelicans jersey.

Hey it's a lottery right? Maybe it's in the cards for McLemore to come here.
