    N/H Happy B Day Jordan

Wanted to give a happy b day to Jordan who has 0% to come on here and ready it.

In appreciation of him making me love the game of basketball, I hung this autographed pic i had of him today that i'd been too lazy to do until today.

Was thinking we could post our fav Jordan moments.

    Probably my favorite here:

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

    Charles Barkley... nuff said. lol

I've never been a fan of MJ. I've been a fan of what he's done and what he's done for the game, but it's hard when your favorite player missed his only chance at a ring on my favorite team (before I moved to LA) because of Jordon. lol

The way ESPN is covering things you would think the man cured cancer or aids, or that he Jesus Christ himself.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

I know right ? It was only the most iconic athlete ever being covered by a sports only station. Can't imagine what they were thinking.

I watched his 63 point game against the Celtics the other day, and it was just amazing how terrible that team was, and how he almost beat one of the best teams ever all by himself.

It's all good, it's mostly In jest. He's right, sometimes they take it a little far, but people eat it up regardless.

It seemed as if ESPN was honoring him like he'd died or been dead.

Btw, that is one amazing picture/autograph!

    Most iconic athlete ever?

    By chance, are you 18?

Wait, I don't even this 18 year olds were old enough to even experience Jordan. That was not a well thought out veiled insult.

Ali, may be in the conversation

Wait what? Jordan owes everything he is in sports to Jackie Robinson.

Yup, and without Robinson MJ is shooting hoops out at Rucker Park still.

But that's not my point. Without James Naismith no ones shooting hoops anywhere. Without a lot of human right trailblazers a lot of athletes wouldn't be playing now. Doesn't mean they were more popular.

    Good point.

Call me when the NBA retires MJ's jersey number.

Call me when you can ask someone in china who Jackie Robinson was.

  24. #24
Kids in China know who Bill Gates is. Kids in China don't care who MJ is (maybe Kobe). They are wired differently than kids here (which is probably why they are passing us up).

I think Jordan is the right answer here...Jordan's impact still resonates today (despite his putrid record as an NBA executive/owner). Someone else in the thread had it right w/ Ali being in the conversation, though. In order to cross generations you have to be the G.O.A.T. Now, Jackie Robinson was a pioneer and one of the bravest men to ever live. I can't imagine the racism, hatred and oppression he had to overcome to play baseball. Unfortunaly, today's generation isn't interested in baseball or history, the two things that make Jackie Robinson such an important part of sports.
