A few of my rookie thoughts on the game last night.

    1) Rivers looked very smooth and comfortable out there with the ball in his hands. Looked like big improvement in decision making on the drive.

    2) Roberts did a nice job finding his teammates, though, IMO to the detriment of what I though were some easy drives to the basket for him.

    3) Gordon didn't even show up on the sideline, must be a pretty bad hand injury....must resist temptation to beat dead horse..must resist...

    4) Dare i say, This team looks like they play better, tighter basketball when Gordon is NOT in the like up....

    5) Nice seeing Anderson get his dunk on. Love his passion and willingness to do what-ever he has to on the floor.

    6) J-Smitty with the rejection.....Not in this house.....

I think the whole Gordon not being on the bench is being overblown. It was a game before the All star break. If you're going to give an injury probe guy a rest, last night was the time. As far as him not being physically there, I'm sure Monty and dell approved it. If they don't care, I don't care.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

I don't really care much either way about Gordon these days. If he plays, great if not, meh.

Reading too much into the situation seems to be the norm around here when it comes to these kinds of things.

Here's the truth for you: Gordon's absence was a result of him having his hand examined by doctors at the time of the game. No conspiracy theory. No "I don't want to be here so I'm not even attending the game" attitude. Just medical reasons.

Sorry guys I haven't read the entire thread but I did Tivo/watched the game last night and noticed EG was a scratch... but then I heard Joel say something and had to rewind a few times because I've never heard such thing...

Did Gordon really have a "sprained hand"? Sprained fingers... yes I've had a bunch of those but I've never sprained my hand. This dude is getting creative with the injuries now.

or did I hear this correctly?

As much as we don't believe it, it happens.

It could be a wrist, could be a finger. It all goes hand in hand.

Yeah everything "happens"... but why this dude? Aldridge sprained his in '08... so after 5 years somebody sprains their hand, and by coincidence it just happens to be Gordon.

I'm not saying he's faking... I don't think he's ever "faking" an injury... my point is that injuries find him. Some people are like that... they just can't stay healthy. And apparently this dude is one of those dudes.

Well you pretty much answered your own question. Why this dude? Because injuries find him and he can't stay healthy.

Oh, and Jason Richardson had a sprained 'hand' in 09 as well. Whether it was 5 years ago or 10 years ago, it happens. Lots of times it's a finger or wrist but they still call it 'hand'. Bradley Beal went to see a 'hand specialist' for his wrist. It's all hand in hand.

Hornets with the rare blowout and I'm loving it. Going to re-watch the 2nd half later.

If I were dell I would have told Gordon to take it off and try to heal from his nicknack injuries and placed him on the injured report. A guy like this you have to take advantage of breaks for lack of a better term haha.

"Risk: Hand injuries are extremely common and affect all age groups and races. They often are caused by occupational or sports injuries. Individuals who ski, fall on an outstretched arm with forceful abduction of the thumb, or who have rheumatoid arthritis have increased risk for ulnar collateral ligament sprain (skier's thumb), as do athletes who participate in football, basketball, and lacrosse.

Incidence and Prevalence: Hand injuries account for 5% to 10% of all emergency department visits nationwide and account for 9% of worker's compensation cases (Lese). "

They're not all that uncommon. The guy got unlucky and probably landed awkwardly on his hand. That's all there is to it.

I'm just guessing but I think he means the other one. When he went down the lane off the dribble and actually dunked on somebody.

Ryan's other dunk was at 7:22 in the 4th. Leonard tried to contest it but Ryan wasn't having it.
