    N/H:Chad Ford reporting that...

Brandon Jennings wants out of Milwaukee. Who does he think he is? He isn't anywhere near the talent that Melo, CP, Dwight and all the other stars who wanted out of their small market teams were. He's overrated on this board, and he's just another perfect example of why the NBA is such trash now.

Lets go get him. I get excited just thinking about Jennings, Gordon, Aminu & Davis running the break with RyNo trailing

  3. #3
He's not going to want to play in NO. He's more concerned with being in a large market

Yeah...Cuban will throw anyting and everything at the Bucks to get him. LOL. I still don't understand why he broke up that championship team. Big risk and it blew up in his face. Poor Dirk....at least he got his ring tho....

Players do this in every professional sports league in existence. Why does make the NBA "trash"?

sure bring him here, in two years he will want out looking for more money and fame. And be prepared to have him at more than 10M a year.

How much would GV would cost to keep? A guy that is a true leader and will bleed for the team that gave him the shot to show his worth

Just confirms, he's not coming to New Orleans. He's going to a large market even if it pays less. He's worried about his personal brand.

Part of the reason he wants our of Milkwaukee is because the market isn't big enough. He obviously wouldn't be happy here either.

I guess I'll reply, eventhough I hope you are joking. You never see somebody crying about playing in a small market in the NFL, MLB, etc so please tell me how this happens in every sports league in existence? The NBA is complete trash, everybody teaming up because they can't do it alone. You would of never seen Magic way he wanted to play with Larry Bird, never hear Jordan say he wanted to play with Isaih, or Drexler, or whoever else was even close to his level. U didn't hear Stockton or Malone complain about playing in a small market. All these young punks these days care about is building their "brand." If the Hornets would of moved I swear on everything that I wouldn't of ever had another second of NBA bball on my TV at my house.

Exactly, another prima Donna little *****. Plus he isn't even worth a max contract, what has he proved to be worth it? The Bucks are smart to not pay him that, just like Atl is smart to not pay Jowh Smith max $$$$. Prob is, not many teams will be willing to trade for Jennings at this point because of his big mouth.

    Inferiority complex?

The small market stuff probably isn't even that big compared to the exposure. You think he'd balk at playing in OKC if he could? Gets as much coverage as any team in the league.

Winning and elite play is the great equalizer.

Everyone knew he would sign somewhere else, but it hadn't been reported by a major media outlet that he "wanted out" now as far as I know. Sorry if it has

If we all accept that professional sports is a business, and that free market capitalism is the ideal we strive for. You can't fault a player for trying to maximize his earning potential in the only years he has a marketable skill. Just look at Chris Paul, he was always a great player, but now he is in LA and he gets more commercials, more endorsements, more air time on ESPN, more consideration for MVP. You cannot act like market size shouldn't matter to a player when it obviously matters to the advertisers and broadcast companies that the players depend on to maximize their economic value.

All very good points, but that doesn't mean we have to like it. Plus my whole argument is that Jennings is no where near the level that CP, Dwight, Melo, etc are on and he should just shut his mouth and be happy that someone will pay him WAY more than he is worth. He'll get a max deal and he is in no way shape or form a max player.

Its not because he's in LA. Its because hes on a winning team.

Ask Lebron James or Kevin Durant if a big market matters. Also, ask Larry Johnson when he was Grand Ma Ma or Penny Hardaway and Lil Penny if you need a big market to get exposure and marketing. Winning is what you need.

Winning and still being marketable at least.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

This is the case in every sports league. Perhaps the OP is unfamiliar with the actions of John Elway (as a player), Eli Manning, Jay Cutler, the entire MLB system, and MLS to a degree. But somehow, according to some, it's only the NBA where these same actions are considered "trash".

It's just typical fan hypocrisy. Colin cowherd was talking about it today. If a player leaves Florida to go play for urban Meyer at Ohio state those fans cheer. But Lebron goes to Miami and his jersey is burned. It's cool as long as it works in your benefit. Hard to say I haven't been an pffender either.
