    Hornets listening to offers for Eric Gordon {merged}

One rival executive said that although New Orleans is not actively shopping Gordon, the team has shown a willingness to engage in talks about him, and Pelinka was known to be more than open to the idea of a trade for his client earlier this season as well. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because the talks were supposed to remain confidential. But again, Gordon would have to approve the deal, and no such discussions about where he might want to go have taken place between him and the team
    ...

This much seems clear about Gordon from the evidence gleaned at the moment: With the Feb. 21 trade deadline looming, he's more than happy to remain with the Hornets for now. According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Gordon has told team officials that he is content and no trade demands have ever been levied by him or his camp.
    ...

"I think we're in a pretty good place as far as the future; definitely the future is bright," Gordon said. "It's all about having the right chemistry and core of guys that's going to be around and making sure (New Orleans) is the right place to be."
    Just a good read.

I would change the title to article about Gordon if it would let me

I'm really actually starting to not like his GAME more than his person.

I can understand listening to offers, but I would be stunned if he was traded unless the team felt they needed to dump his salary. However, I don't think the team will get a good offer.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

The team should be listening to offers about everyone thats what front offices do. I dont really see anything newsworthy here and I would be shocked if Gordon got traded.

There are more positive stuff from him at the end of the article. people should read the entire article before getting the whole picture.

As far as the Hornets listening to offers, the only trade that I see a team possibly making for Gordon is the Pacers.... Gordon for Granger. One damaged good for another.

I would be very stunned if he is traded. I think they are going to wait and see for another year.

Its a pretty good read. Talks about Demps, free agency and Gordon's thoughts about the team.

With Danny Granger coming back I was thinking hopefully we could try to trade EG for Paul George. I don't know what else we would have to package with EG to get the Pacers interested though.

NOT saying we SHOULD do it... just saying that would be a deal discussed since they have a void a SG, we need a SF. Even healthy Granger isn't that great but good. We don't even know the state of Grangers knees so we'd be in the same position without the the upside of Gordon. Granger's contract is only for two more years at nearly the same rate at Gordon's

I'd imagine George is pretty close to untouchable unless a guy like Lebron was offered (which we all know wouldn't happen) . I don't even know if I'd take melo for him if I were Indiana. On a rookie contract and playing like a star.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

No way in hell are the Pacers going to do that. For them Paul George is the future, Granger is now not necessarily needed. Thats why they would be open to trading him.

If that doesn't get you pretty mad, you probably took faith in the last paragraph which was a spin on the shots he just kind of threw at this franchise.

David West and Chris Paul comment got me furious. He doesn't even know what those guys went through. No ownership, and at one point a terrible owner and GM. He's in a way better place that they were in. But yet he uses that they left as some sort of leverage as if to say; "Maybe this isn't a good place to be."

The dude wanted the 5 year?!
    That's for Davis, sweetheart.

Wanted to know what our team would look like? We just drafted you the best player in the nation. Yet you can't express any excitement. Simply saying on twitter when we won the lottery, "wow New Orleans.." But when Indy is 1st in AP poll you're as giddy as a kid on Christmas.

Ugh. I used to have patience with this guy.

about the 5 year thing...that was before the hornets knew they would get davis...he wanted a 5 yr deal before the extension deadline last year during the season

I'm pretty sure Gordon won't be here through the life of his deal unless he's constantly injured.

Also he said "wow new orleans" only after the hornets drafted Austin Rivers... You're angry, and I get that, but you're going to have to live with this guy like it or not.

It's best you root for him so he is good enough to win us games, or marketable enough to get back some value if we trade him. Either way, if you don't root for him, you are only doing the franchise a disservice.

    Sad but true.

I would love George but we aren't getting him. I say we keep Gordon until he can improve his trade value

Let's say the Hornets are entertaining the thought of trading Gordon, what I'd really like to know is, why does it seem like people think Indiana is the only trading partner? Yeah, yeah, I know he's from Indiana but I'd hope the FO get a good deal for the Hornets/Pelicans, not Gordon. Everytime the words Gordon and trade come up, Indiana is the first word that spews out of peoples mouths. Indiana and Granger. Or now it's Indiana and George. But best believe, you're going to read the word Indiana.

I wouldnt be surprised if we do a straight up Gordon/ Josh Smith trade. Maybe add in there kyle korver (:

Yeah, that's a good read. NOT because of the snippet about "listening to trade offers." As has already been stated, that is a non-story. We are rebuilding, so technically we will "listen to trade offers" for just about anyone.

It is a good read to get some more insight into the mind of Eric Gordon. We fans have made a lot of assumptions about what is going on in there.

Two things stand out to me:
    1. The Clippers deal made him feel like a spurned lover in the same way that we felt because of CP3. It's interesting. We get all emotional about stuff like this and then say, "well, you'll just have to excuse us, we are New Orleans. We get a little insecure sometimes after all we've been through." I guess we need to cut him the same slack that we've asked for.

    2. He clearly states in the article that DID NOT want to rehab in LA away from the team. That was the team's idea and he submitted to their wishes. A lot of people assumed that it was HIS decision and he wanted to be away. Looks like the truth was the exact opposite.

It is like I said, Paul George is a SF, Granger is a SF, this season has proved, they don't need Granger, so the Pacers would be open to moving him. I'm sure they rather not get a loaded contract as big as Gordon, but they have at one point wanted him.

As far as Josh Smith, I would love to have him, if he's wiling to sign with us and we are planning to develop Davis as a center. It would be kind of strange to envision Ryno, Josh Smith, and Davis on our team.

I do root for him? I root for this team. He was one of my favorite players before he got here. But sure if you're implying that we keep playing the ignore game, like a lot of people are, then I can't do that anymore.

I have always looked at smith as a sf
