Shabazz Muhammad if he's available. Otherwise give me Trey Burke or Cody Zeller

PR Sim League (2006-07 Season)
Shabazz.
Won't happen though, so a more realistic player would probably be Otto Porter.
"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
Trade the pick for a proven talent, not really feelin' this draft for SF's and dont want a rookie PG
Someone who is better than rivers hopefully
My choice (if we are out of the top 4 which I expect we will be) is Burke or Porter.
Burke, mclemore, shabazz, porter
Shabazz. Gives us one more player who can create off the dribble along with Gordon, Vasquez and hopefully future Rivers. Good fit as any IMO.
Trey Burke is so lowly rated by draft scouts that I'm really questioning my eyes. I can't see how anyone could possibly have a higher grade on Kendall Marshall in 2012 than Trey Burke in 2013.
The kid can flat out play basketball. I think scouts have become way too overzealous with their height requirements. The best player BY FAR I've seen this year is Trey Burke. It's not even close. He and Magic are the last 2 PGs in the Big 10 to average at least 17 & 7.
I hope that makes him drop to us if we're not 6-8. That kid can BALL.
In order Anthony Bennett, Otto Potter, Nerlens Noel (If we let Lopez bro go), and maybe a wild card Glenn Robinson III.
In order
1.Bazz
2.McLemore
3.Noel
4.Porter
5.Burke
Any of these and i'll be happy. I'd also be happy with Zeller or Smart.
Also, if Victor Oladipo slips out of the first round what would y'all think about buying our way back into the 2nd to grab him? He could take X's role since he can play backup SG or SF.
Hopefully someone in the 2014 draft. I think we will ruin our pick this year when the schedule lightens up in the second half of the season.
i will honestly be happy with any of the following: shabazz, porter, burke, smart, bennett, McLemore
I'm operating under the assumption that Vasquez isn't a long-term solution as a starting 1. I agree that taking a PG in the draft may signify that we're keeping him too, but I wouldn't bank on him starting for that much longer if that happens to be the case.
Either way, the underlying factor is I don't think GV should be starting long-term if we seriously have championship aspirations.
It's all kind of connected to my belief that Rivers is the long-term solution at the 1. I don't see Rivers as a short-term or long-term backup at the 2.
The more I think about it, the less likely it seems to me that we're going to take a 1 in the draft. Most likely will be a wing or a big man (BPA, withstanding).
Maybe Grevis stays and becomes a backup over the long-haul? My gut tells me that we won't keep both Rivers and GV. I believe one of them is going to have to go. And I'd bet it won't be the player who we just invested a lottery pick in and is connected personally to Monty.

ESPN's Fran Fraschilla just put out his top 25 players in NCAA.
#1 is Trey Burke. Here's his write-up for those who don't have insider:
"In a season that has seen some outstanding point guard play, Burke is clearly the best all-around player at his position in college basketball. Averaging 18 points per game, he has been in double figures in every game. And in addition to averaging seven assists per game, he has a very impressive 3.7-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
John Beilein has always been a gifted offensive coach who can scheme Xs and Os with the best of them. But when it comes to Burke, he has applied a "less is more" approach by allowing him to use his offensive gifts in transition and ball-screen isolation plays. The 6-foot sophomore from Columbus, Ohio has responded with a remarkably efficient season so far and is arguably the most important reason the Wolverines are No. 1 in the country."

Top 5:
1. Trey Burke
2. Doug McDermott
3. Ben McLemore
4. Kelly Olynyk
5. Cody Zeller

Burke is having a Lillard-like rise even though he's more noticed and on the scene that Lillard was.
That doesn't bode good for us unless we luck out and end up top 3. Dude is shooting up the draft boards and getting his "I wasn't heavily recruited" card played hardcore right now. He was overshadowed by Big Dog & Timbug Jr's and now he's getting his due. I really think he vaults over Smart, Cdub, and everyone else besides Bazz and Noel.
The only good thing that could come out of this is that someone like Zeller, McLemore, etc falls to us outside the top 5 and opens up trade possibilities for some team really wanting one of those guys. I really don't like us taking McLemore when we already took Rivers last year and have Gordon as a piece here. I'd much rather Bennett or Porter at that juncture.
I am really sold on Otto Porter, but as a Hoya I am biased... Heavily.
If we could get a draft of Porter in the first and Snaer in the second, that would be great.
