    PELICAN TAKEOVER {merged}

    ok I am literally getting out of bed to write this. Been thinking about this all day:

    I think its time for a Pelican take over. Now that we have our new nickname and some fan gear its a perfect time to show the league and the all NBA fans, sports fans, people of Louisiana, the people of the U.S. who the Pelicans are. My fellow fans its time to rise up (or dive in however you want to think about it)! The fans that show up to home games should wearing the new colors, not the old. We should have shirts and hats and signs on the road. Show the players on this team that the takeover is imminent. The Hornets are exterminated and the Pelican is infesting.

    We so kindly received a countdown to the announcement of the re-brand. Lets have a countdown to the arrival, game 1 next season. In the stadiums we should be loud. In Oakland we should be saying "Blah blah days ... Lets Go Pels", in Brooklyn when they are chanting "Brooklyn" we should be saying "Pelican". In Detroit when they are saying "Detroit...Basketball" we should be saying "Crescent City......Basketball". Or wherever we can take a obnoxious sound from Camden Indoor and just say "PEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSS!!!!!"

    Guys I think once we lay the groundwork for this excitement we will be adding fans left and right. Thats not our main goal, but the goal should be show the world, "Some of yall laughing....but not for long. The Pels are coming!". Also to show the players in the league this is best fans in the Association, so come here and join us. Maybe with enough fervor from us this will prompt more gear to be released that way every fan will no longer have Hornet gear on at the games. It will be seas of red or blue or gold.

    Its time to give birth to Pelican nation...




    By the way you guys always got great ideas, you come up with some ideas on what we can do show that the takeover is here and now.

    This is exactly what the Bensons want... start seeing that red, blue and gold popping up on bodies in the Arena as soon as they get back from the SB/MG road trips

    they want to see that immediate acceptance of the Pelicans from the fans and the help in killing off the creole blue purple and gold of the hornets

    I live in the Balt/DC area and when I went to a Wizards game vs the Hornets there was like a whole section of Hornets fans I was sitting across from. Let me know if there is some kind of support like that this year. I will try and buy tix in that section.

    Has anybody seen pelican gear in any of the local stores yet (other than the Arena)? I ordered a hat from the NBA Store but it's a pre-order and won't ship for 5 weeks! I want something to wear around town during the Super Bowl/Mardi Gras weeks.

    Pelican Takeover and Pelican nation does sound funny and cheesy though. People will be laughing for at least the first year or two. I'm ordering a hat/gear this week. The shirts were kind of expensive on the Hornets website the day I looked

    The team store at the Arena if you can get there on foot, pedicab, bike, Segway, teleport or fly in a la' Batman style cause taking a car is not what's up!
